Length: 2 hrs and 16 mins

Release date: May 30, 2019

Alien III? Didn’t that already happen back in the ’90s? By no less than William Gibson, the author of Neuromancer?

Yes, Alien3 was and still is a thing. Possibly much to the chagrin of many fans of the franchise. But, before that happened, there was an attempt at a script written by William Gibson (father of see above). According to the Alien vs. Predator wiki, Gibson’s script was the first of 10 commissioned sequels to Alien and Aliens and was written in 1987 only to be re-written in 1988 and the studio accepted neither.

SDCC 2013: Edge of Tomorrow panel: Bill Paxton

Bill Paxton, the ultimate character actor, a handsome charmer who could easily be a leading man, but was most known for his hilarious film-stealing scenes in supporting roles throughout his 40-plus year career, has died. The actor who perhaps is best known for his defeated exclamation, “Game Over man, Game Over!” in James Cameron’s 1986 action sequel Aliens died yesterday from complications from surgery. He was 61. Paxton is survived by his second wife and two children.

James Cameron Doesn’t Like What’s Happen With The ‘Alien’ Franchise

James Cameron's Aliens the Alien sequel

James Cameron took Ridley Scott‘s place as the director of the Alien sequel, Aliens. The follow-up stepped away from the sci-fi horror, and was warped into an action thriller. The series stuck with that genre for the next two sequels before reverting back to where it started with the tepid prequel, Prometheus. The franchise will try to reestablish its sci-fi horror credibility with Alien: Covenant – check out the trailer here below. While some may be excited for what’s to come, there’s one director who isn’t.

Cameron isn’t too happy with the current state of the Alien franchise and believes that the series should not have carried on after his film. But he still believes there is a chance the franchise can be saved. Check out what he said here below.

Aliens Lens Comes To Snapchat

This year movie fans around the world celebrate the 30th anniversary of director James Cameron’s blockbuster sequel, Aliens. The movie is the follow-up to Ridley Scott’s classic 1979 original, Alien, and was released in July of 1986. Costing a little under $20 million to make, it would go on to bring in over $131 million worldwide at the box office.

To help celebrate the anniversary, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has launched a special Aliens lens for Snapchat users to enjoy. With it, you can turn yourself into a feared Xenomorph, or you can even get your very own facehugger to latch on to your skull. Adorable little guys, really. Misunderstood.

You can see how the facehugger looks in the image below.

Aliens: The Set Photography
Hardcover
Written by Simon Ward
Titan Books
Release Date: August 9th, 2016

Most fans today know James Cameron as the director of the two biggest money makers of all time: Titanic (1997) and Avatar (2009). But thirty years ago, he was a man with one major hit to his name, the 1984 classic The Terminator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Cameron proved he could blend science fiction and action together in a way never quite seen before in movie history. So when he worked to bring a sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1979 masterwork Alien, everyone was paying attention. Scott’s film was a gothic horror film in outer space featuring an unforgettable monster from the mind of H.R. Giger. Cameron’s film was vastly different, and thanks to the hard work of Simon Ward and the people at Titan Books, we can now step behind the scenes into the world of Aliens and celebrate he sequel’s 30 year birthday with Aliens: The Set Photography. The book features stunning photos, fun stories, and an introduction by Carrie Henn.
