Justice League Header Image

At first glance Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice looked like it was only going to be about the Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel. But as we can see based on the subtitle, it’s going to be more than just about the two heroes. For one thing, Gal Gadot has a role as Wonder Woman, as does Ray Fisher who will play Victor Stone aka Cyborg. Given that Gadot is in a three-picture deal, it’s really no surprise that she will be getting her own movie as well as have a role in Justice League. But where does it all fit on the schedule? Dawn of Justice isn’t due out for another year and half, and what about the other heroes? Where do they fit into all of this.

Well a new rumor has popped up, and it reveals that not only does Warner Bros have a schedule laid out for the DC Cinematic Universe, but they have plans laid out until 2018. Sure that may not be as expansive as Marvel Studios who has plans up until 2018, but it is a start, and if successful, WB may be able to finally catch up with their rival. Hit the jump to see what the studio has planned for us.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Logo Image

Kevin Smith is probably the closest person to the production of the now officially titled Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, without actually being involved in it, thanks in part to his friendship with Ben Affleck. He was one of the few who got to see the new Batsuit before Zack Snyder tweeted it out to the public a few weeks ago. In fact he was the first to confirm that the suit was black and grey, which is a nod to the Batsuit that we saw in Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns.

But even though he dropped that tidbit a few months back, Smith is dropping even more info about the film’s universe. He hints that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice actually sets up not one, not two, not three or four, but a five or maybe six-part Justice League film. Hit the jump to read what he said.

Batman vs Superman

Warner Brothers Studios has announced that the Man of Steel sequel, known up until now as Batman vs. Superman, will officially be Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. It’s funny how this title is not only a play on the former tentative title, but the official subtitle is also a play on the Justice League film itself – if it’s even called that anymore.

In addition to the title announcement, an official logo for the movie has also been released. You can see that, plus reaction to the title, below.

Batman vs. Superman

Outside of a ceaseless parade of casting news there has been little revealed regarding Warner Bros.’ Man of Steel sequel/2016 superhero team-up epic which may or may not be called Batman Vs. Superman (which I will refer to it as for the sake of this article), until now.

Yesterday director Zack Snyder teased the reveal and today he’s not only given us our first good glimpse at the new Batmobile, but he also threw in our first look at star Ben Affleck in full Batman costume, via his Twitter feed.

See it here below!

Batman vs. Superman

If Ben Affleck is playing Batman in the Man of Steel sequel, currently titled Batman vs. Superman, then he’s going to need a Batmobile to get around.

Director Zack Snyder has decided to tease the version of the iconic vehicle that’s been made for the movie with a new image he released on the Twitter yesterday. You can check out the image below.

The Man Of Steel sequel tentatively titled Batman Vs. Superman isn’t due out in theaters for another two years, and will open up against Captain America 3. But Warner Bros remains undeterred by the huge success that Marvel is currently experiencing, as they have announced the next phase of their DC Comics Cinematic Universe by naming Zack Snyder as the director of Justice League.

Warner Bros. president of worldwide production Greg Silverman said that the studio has set plans to make a Justice League movie, and confirmed the news to The Wall Street Journal.

Ray Fisher, who was recently cast as Victor Stone/Cyborg, joins Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, who play Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, respectively, in Batman Vs. Superman, with production set to begin next month.

Batman vs. Superman

Though the tentatively titled Batman vs. Superman was pushed back an entire year from its original release date, director Zack Snyder and WB are still working hard to build a great cast. Today they have added Oscar-winning actress Holly Hunter, 300: Rise of an Empire‘s Callan Mulvery, and Captain America: The First Avenger‘s Tao Okamoto.

Deadline reports that the roles have not been specified but they do not have comic book origins, instead these roles have been specifically created for the film itself.

Batman vs. Superman

Not content with just a World’s Finest storyline, DC and Legendary Pictures have announced the additions of even more characters to the already overpopulated Man Of Steel sequel, tentatively titled Batman vs. Superman.

The list, consisting of Captain Marvel, Martian Manhunter, Lobo, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, Guy Gardner, Supergirl, Zatana, and Gorilla Grodd, is sure to be met with mixed emotions from fans.

Director Zach Snyder stated, “I mean, we already have Batman and Wonder Woman on board. So I was thinking that if we get these other guys in here too, we can skip making a whole bunch of movies and just go into Justice League next year. I mean, you know who these guys are from the comics. You don’t need a whole movie per guy. Why carry your eggs in several baskets when you just cram ’em all into one really awesome basket?”

‘Captain America 3’ Will Begin The Marvel vs. DC Comic Book Movie War

Chris Evans

The quest for comic book movie dominance has shifted ever so slightly towards Marvel Studios’ favor, and with the studio showing no signs of slowing down, Warner Brothers with DC Comics, Sony with The Amazing Spider-Man, and Fox with X-Men and Fantastic Four are looking to replicate the same success by creating their own cinematic universes. But with the MCU being the clear frontrunner, it was only a matter of time before we would see a Marvel vs. DC.

No, not in terms of adaptation, but in terms of box office dominance. Never before have the two rivaling comic book houses shared the same release date, but come May 6, 2016, that will all change. Marvel has just announced that they will be releasing Captain America 3 on the same day that WB is planning to release Batman vs. Superman.
