Last week on Arrow, Lance (Paul Blackthorne) really came through for Rene (Rick Gonzalez), by arranging a visit with his daughter, and inspiring him to fight for her. Alena (Kacey Rohl) told Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) that A.R.G.U.S. is holding their leader, Cayden James, without due process. He invented a biomarker tracker that they could use to get Chase (Josh Segarra), but wanted Felicity’s help at breaking him out. This put Felicity at odds with the team, and Diggle (David Ramsey) at odds with Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson). Felicity was successful and she tracked Chase to their bunker. Cue explosion.

Two weeks ago on Arrow, the jig was up as Prometheus leaked to the SCPD that the Green Arrow killed Officer Malone. Oliver (Stephen Amell) explained the real reasons, but then it was leaked to the press. Impeachment loomed and Vigilante attacked. Oliver was worried about Thea (Willa Holland) as she was displaying characteristics of their mother. Thea resigned to find herself. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) fixed the Susan Williams (Carly Pope) situation. Paul asked Curtis (Echo Kellum) for a divorce. Prometheus was revealed (to the audience) as…

Last time on Arrow, the gang got wind of Damien Darhk’s (Neal McDonough) impending escape and go to stop him. Andy turned on them at the last minute, not surprising to Oliver (Stephen Amell), but devastatingly surprising to Diggle (David Ramsey). Darhk finally got his revenge for Lance’s (Paul Blackthorne) betrayal by stabbing Laurel (Katie Cassidy) with one of The Green Arrow’s arrows. She seemed to be doing fine in the hospital, and had a raw heart to heart with Ollie telling him she loved him, and telling him a secret. She passed unexpectedly.

Last week on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, it was 1986 and they were looking into Operation Svarog, a secret Soviet project that Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) was involved in. Ray and Snart (Brandon Routh and Wentworth Miller) teamed up to get info from this beautiful Russian madwoman, who is trying to build a Russian Firestorm. Ray strikes out, but Snart piques her interest for a while. Predictable fight ensues and half of them are captured. Sara and Hawkgirl (Caity Lotz and Ciara Renee) train as a way for Hawkgirl to control the animal within. But Sara still has limited control over herself, and is humbled. Last week on Arrow, John Constantine guest starred! It made me indescribably happy to see Matt Ryan on the show, not only in present day Star City, but also in the flashbacks in Lian Yu, finally making that storyline a hell of a lot more interesting. After Oliver (Stephen Amell) finds out that Sara (Caity Lotz) is alive but soulless, and out to kill Thea (Willa Holland), he calls in a favor from a friend. That friend is John Constantine, whose life Oliver saved back on the island. Constantine takes Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Oliver into the other realm to fight for Sara’s soul, and they win. The Lance family has a tearful reunion. Holt (Echo Kellum) discovers that Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) is alive!

Air Date: Wednesday, October 28th, 2015, 8:00pm

Last week on Arrow, Thea and Laurel (Willa Holland and Katie Cassidy) go to Nanda Parbat to get Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), the new Ra’s al Ghul, to restore Sara (Caity Lotz) via the Lazarus Pit. Thea also wants to cure the beast inside her. At first Merlyn says no to the pit, and lies to Thea about helping her. Once he tricks her into killing to slake the bloodlust, she is so furious, he agrees to resurrect Sara. Because of all this, Nyssa (Katrina Law) destroys The Lazarus Pit. That was wise. Sara comes out of the Pit, a wild animal, bent on destroying Thea (her killer). That’s a tidy reason why she will need to leave to join Legends of Tomorrow. Diggle and Oliver (David Ramsey and Stephen Amell) squash their issues, Diggle finally admitting his secret 2-year investigation. Felicity was so pro team, I thought surely someone was going to be in critical condition by the end of the episode. Thank goodness, no one was. A killer-by-playing-card meta ran around town, and was the means by which newcomer Holt (Echo Kellum) finds out about her other job (but not about Oliver’s identity… yet).

Air Date: Wednesday, October 7th, 2015, 8:00pm

Superhero season is officially back! Yesterday kicked off with The Flash, and tonight it’s time for its darker cousin, Arrow.

When we last saw Oliver Queen aka Arrow (Stephen Amell), he was happily driving down a sunny road, away from the chaos and towards his new happy life with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). Matt Nable‘s Ra’s al Ghul was defeated, and Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) took his place. Thea (Willa Holland) embraced her inner superhero in her red leather outfit, after her boyfriend Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) left town. It looks like Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) exploded (but we know better), and Diggle (David Ramsey) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) are still in town fighting crime, most likely against her anti-vigilante father Lance’s wishes (Paul Blackthorne).

We all caught up? Don’t read on unless you’ve watched the episode, for spoilers lie ahead.

The review of Arrow 3.21 “Al Sah-Him” is coming right up. But first, a little (or a lot) recap of last week. Spoilers!

Thea (Willa Holland) is pretty much dead. Oliver (Stephen Amell) is beaten. He brings her to Nanda Parbat, to accept Ra’s al Ghul’s (Matt Nable) offer, in exchange for resurrecting her in the Lazarus Pit. Felicity, Diggle, and Malcolm (Emily Bett Rickards, David Ramsey, and John Barrowman) go with him. Thea leaps out acting crazy – loving towards Malcolm, not recognizing Ollie, thinking her mom is alive. Felicity and Oliver finally do it! But then they have to leave him there. Felicity tries one last ditch effort to get him out of there, but it is an epic fail.

I really hope everyone is caught up on Arrow. You had a month, people! If not….spoiler alert!

We last left our favorite vigilante trapped in Nanda Parbat with John Diggle (David Ramsey) in a failed rescue attempt of Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman). Thea (Willa Holland), so distraught that Malclom drugged her and set her up to kill the original Canary, Sarah Lance (Caity Lotz), she sold him to Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable) for her and Oliver’s guaranteed safety. Oliver went to rescue him against everyone’s advice in order to save Thea from future torment and guilt. I have to side with Oliver on this one. If Merlyn dies, eventually Thea’s anger will fade and she will be full of regrets.
