With each new installment of the Fast and Furious franchise comes a new definition of fun. That is especially true for The Fate of the Furious. For nearly a decade Dom and his family have gone through the perils of street racing, heists, and avenging a fallen family member. And though it has reinvented itself to stay fresh and contemporary, one thing about the franchise remains true: it’s all about family. But the strength of that bond will be put to the test when an act of betrayal forces Dom to cross everyone he knows and go on a high-stakes crime spree that could put the world in the hands of a dangerous cyber terrorist.

Of course, another constant for the film is the fact that it continually jumps the shark whenever the opportunity presents itself. And seeing how car technology has advanced, The Fate of the Furious shifts jumping the shark into high gear. Check out the full review below.

Universal Monsters

Given the popularity of superhero shared universes, studios are trying to snatch up properties in hopes of mimicking their box office success. So it is easy to see why some would dismiss one of the newest shared universes, Universal’s Classic Monsters universe.

Sure, Alex Kurtzman’s The Mummy may be the beginning of a Universal Monsters shared universe with Dr. Jekyll (Russell Crowe) being the rumored thread that ties it all together, but producer Chris Morgan says upcoming remakes of The Wolfman, The Invisible Man, Bride of Frankenstein, Van Helsing, Creature from the Black Lagoon, etc, won’t be anything like what’s being done over at Marvel Studios or WB’s DC Films. Check out what he had to say below.

While the first trailer was focused on all the action, this new trailer gives us a little more context as to why this particular mummy is evil and what she intends to do now that is has been brought back to life, thanks in no small part to some curious people who accidentally found the sarcophagus. Check out the full trailer below.

The Mummy reboot Tom Cruise Annabelle Wallis

Now that Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Alex Kurtzman‘s The Mummy, starring Tom Cruise, it’s time to answer some of those lingering questions we may have about the film. No, not about the shared Monsters universe that the studio is creating, but on how they shot that gravity-defying scene that sees Cruise and co-star Annabelle Wallis twisting and turning in a plane.

As it turns out, this wasn’t CGI or done on a soundstage. This was real and shot in an aircraft, appropriately called The Vomit Comet. Watch the featurette here below.

Universal's The Mummy

The popularity of a shared universe is undeniable. Disney has their Marvel Cinematic Universe, while Warner Bros. has the DC Extended Universe. Both studios use comic book source materials to expand and grow their superhero franchises. This doesn’t leave much for other studios. But in the case for Universal, they have their classic monster movies at their disposal. So, in order to keep up with the competition, they are launching a shared Monsters universe, and it will all kick off with Alex Kurtzman‘s The Mummy, starring Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Star Trek Beyond)

The film’s first trailer dropped during Sunday night’s episode of The Walking Dead. Check it out here below.
