Disney has released the first trailer for Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel concept art

Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel will be a period piece that takes us back to the 1990s. In it, we will see Academy Award winner Brie Larson play as Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot who is endowed with cosmic alien powers and gets caught up in an intergalactic war between two alien races. But it’s not so much about the film’s plot or setting as it is who we will be seeing again. Seeing again as in, characters who we thought wouldn’t appear on screen ever again, are returning to the MCU once more. Just in a different timeline.

We know that Nick Fury is in this, so it only makes sense that Clark Gregg would return to reprise his role as Agent Phil Coulson. And because the film is about the war between the Kree and the Skrull, Lee Pace will be reprising his role as Ronan. More on this and a brand new photo, below.

Marvel Agents Of SHIELD 09

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. closed out Friday’s New York Comic-Con panels on the Main Stage. Moderator Jeph Loeb took the stage and began the hour-plus event by introducing new cast member Gabriel Luna (Ghost Rider), and S.H.I.E.L.D. alumni Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson) and Chloe Bennet (Daisy).

Loeb first asked Luna to describe for the audience his transformation into the spirit of vengeance. “They made me look like a christmas tree,” Luna joked. “They put a lot of dots all over my face and what looked like a bib.”

These “Who Will Die” promos for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.Fallen Agent are killing me. Or someone else, I guess. They have been teasing an “earth-shattering” finale and death for so many weeks, that I’m actually looking forward to seeing who they kill off.

As for Episode 3.19 “Failed Experiments,” we definitely see some failed experiments!

Last week on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the team discovered that Daisy had been infected by Hive, causing her to follow him “blindly,” leaving the S.H.I.E.L.D. base in ruin with her powers. This week, the agents have two missions: find a cure for Daisy and prevent Hive from creating an Inhuman army. Just like this episode, their missions are failures.

Clark Gregg and Hayley Atwell brought their legendary rivalry to the Lip Sync Battle stage last night. This may come as a shock, but I didn’t actually hate “The Team,” Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 3.17. It wasn’t all great, but there were some genuine character moments and decent plot developments. This episode was all about trust — and while a budding trust between multiple characters was quickly shattered by forces out of their control, my trust for the show began a path to renewal.

Spoilers ahead!
