Disney Princesses as Game Of Thrones characters

Disney characters, especially the Disney princesses, are always a great template to start with for reimagining characters in different fictional universes. And when you can take the normally sweet and innocent heroines and throw them into a world as vicious as Game of Thrones, it is all the better, and just in time for Season 4 to boot!

In this gallery of art, dubbed “The Wonderful World of Westeros”, which you can check out in full here below, artist DjeDjehuti makes some inspiring choices for matching up the Disney princesses with the female character designs from the fan favorite HBO series.

Some of the best match-ups include the newer Disney princess Miranda as Ygritte, Snow White as Shae, and Lilo as Arya. Even Mushu, from Mulan, gets to make a supporting appearance as one of Daenerys’ dragons.

Check out the full gallery below, and if you’re in need of some more Disney princess mash-ups, check them out as Star Wars characters or after they get a dark and twisted makeover.

Star Wars Disney Princesses banner

It’s quite popular to take Disney characters and switch their look up a bit, whether it be giving them a dark and twisted makeover or dressing them up as characters from Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead or trying to figure out what they might look like in real life.

Today the Disney Princesses try their hand in the Star Wars universe. A collection of seven of the princesses have been given a Star Wars makeover, complete with lightsabers or familiar outfits or a carbonite, uhh…accessory? Yeah, let’s go with that!

You can check out the images below.

Watch ‘Frozen’ Queen Elsa Convince Disney Princesses They Don’t Need A Prince (Video)

Disney Princesses AVByte

YouTube twosome AVByte has put together a fun and refreshing spin on the Disney princess stereotype. In this song, a live actress/singer portraying Queen Elsa from Disney’s newest release, Frozen, tries to snap her damsel-in-distress companions out of their stupor to see their potential as heroes themselves.

The familiar princesses take turns singing as they become empowered by Elsa. “I dreamed of daring quests, seeing the world from East to West. Instead, we just sit inside; stuck in this princess stereotype,” the group sings. With a catchy melody, strong vocals, and meaningful lyrics, this is an enjoyable sketch for all.

Disney Princesses Halloween

The Disney princesses—Snow White, Belle, Ariel, and many more—are dressing up for Halloween, and of course, they’re going as some of the most popular fictional characters of then and now, including from Game of Thrones, Star Wars, The Avengers, The Walking Dead, Harry Potter, and more.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the princesses dressing up, either—last month we saw them wearing the attire of their princes. You can check that out right here if you missed it.

SNL

There was a sketch on last night’s Saturday Night Live called The Real Housewives Of Disney that gave us a glimpse into the not-so-happily-married lives of the Disney princesses.

The show’s host Lindsay Lohan played Rapunzel from Tangled, along with Snow White, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Jasmine from Aladdin, and Kristin Wiig as an alcoholic Cinderella.

Watch the full sketch here below.

New Fantasyland - Disney World

If you’ve been to the Magic Kingdom at Disney World in Florida recently, you’ve seen that the Fantasyland area is under heavy construction — that’s because the area is currently undergoing a major expansion that will nearly double the size of the original Fantasyland.

One of the main objectives of the expansion is to add a whole bunch of new Beauty and the Beast-themed attractions, eateries, and architecture, including Beast’s Castle!

Check out the image here below, via Disney Parks Blog, that provides a sneak peek of Beast’s Castle, which will house the Be Our Guest restaurant, scheduled to open in late 2012. The restaurant is said to “offer a lavish dining experience in the castle’s elegant ballroom, gallery and mysterious “west-wing.” Eventually, other Beauty and the Beast-themed buildings will open around the Castle, like Gaston’s Tavern, Bonjour! Village Gifts, and the cottage of Belle’s father, Maurice. And of course, there will be a meet-and-greet with Belle and her friends.

Must See: Brutal & Brilliant ‘Twisted’ Disney Princesses

Twisted Disney Princesses banner

OK, so you may be looking at these and realize you’ve seen them before. That’s because they’re actually pretty old, originally hitting the ‘net a couple of years back. That said, sometimes you just don’t find something until well after others have seen it, and this is for those of you like myself who had yet to discover them!

If you’re among those of us seeing these images for the first time, they come from the incredibly talented character designer and story artist, Jeffrey Thomas. He takes almost all of the beloved Walt Disney Princesses and gives them a more realistic and often brutal makeover, dubbing his works “Twisted Princess.”

These are all incredibly good, as you shall see, but my personal favorite has to be Ariel from The Little Mermaid, who happens to have a dinglehopper for a left hand. Yes, this is fact. Now you have to click on over to see for yourself, don’t you?
