Each and every week “Sheikie Baby!” MK2Fac3 and “Rowdy Roddy” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible… theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of March 14, 2012. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

Wednesday is THE DAY for new comics, and as per usual, Henchman21 and MK2Fac3 are here to tell you about all the books that they’re looking forward to. It’s another mirror image week where Henchie McHencherson and SK6Factory3 switch things up while one picks three singles and one collection, while the other does the opposite. I don’t know how much you know about how mirrors work, but that’s the way it goes, dollface. We’ve got a lot of books like Saucer Country, Queen Crab, Avengers Assemble, Saga, The World of Flashpoint featuring Batman, Womathology again, and so much more! Honey child, it’s a big week! Anyway, I don’t even know why I’m writing this, so I’ll see you back in a minute when we get to the meat of The GoD List!

Brian Azzarello. Eduardo Risso. These are two comic creators whose names create instant excitement when attached to a new project, especially when they are on the same book, as they are with their new series from DC/Vertigo, which launches this week with Spaceman #1. Azzarello and Risso are the team that brought us a landmark run with their series 100 Bullets. They were also the team for possibly the best thing to come out of DC’s Flashpoint event, with their Batman: Knight of Vengeance mini-series. So, when they start a new project, it’s easy to get me and many other comics fans excited. It’s a good thing then that Spaceman is very good, because you do not want to see a bunch of fanboys get pissed off when things don’t live up to their expectations.

100 Bullets Vol. 11100 Bullets Vol. 11: Once Upon a Crime TPB
Written by Brian Azzarello
Art by Eduardo Risso
Cover by Dave Johnson
DC Comics/Vertigo
Cover Price $12.99; On sale: Aug 2007

100 Bullets remains one of the most intriguing and thought provoking series being published today. The series started as a simple morality play, but has transformed itself into a deep mystery series, with a heavy film noir feel. As new characters have been introduced the mystery of the series has gotten deeper and more intricate. The only problem is that the mystery has gone on for maybe too long, and the series may have gotten too far away from its initial premise. The newest trade doesn’t help much, as one of the big plot points of the whole series is examined and explained, but the plot mostly just turns its wheels, and a big character death is made less important by the surrounding events.

You’ve probably heard of the high concept of the series before: a mysterious stranger finds people and offers them the chance for revenge by presenting them with a briefcase holding evidence against the object of their revenge, and a gun with 100 untraceable bullets. The series has grown so far beyond that however, that the briefcase is only given very short mentions in this volume. As the series has gone one, it’s become more involved with a dangerous group known as the Minutemen, and their masters the Trust. This volume finally explains the big secret of why the Trust tried to get rid of the Minutemen, and what they did in retaliation. It brings to light some of the biggest mysteries from the beginning of the series.
