Terminator: Dark Fate

The Terminator franchise just hasn’t been the same since Terminator 2: Judgement Day. With key creative and performing players missing, it seemed like it would meet a dark fate. However, director Tim Miller and producer James Cameron promise that Terminator: Dark Fate will be different.

Not only are they bringing back Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800, and Edward Furlong as John Connor, but the film will also be a “relentless” and “white-knuckle” actioner going back to the franchise’s R-rated roots. Check out the featurette below.

Time travel can be a very fickle thing. There are no one set of rules that anyone abides by. And that is pretty clear in Terminator: Dark Fate, which not only brings back a seasoned Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and an aged T-800 unit (Arnold Schwarzenegger), as well as John Connor himself. But this time, it will be Edward Furlong, who originated the on-screen character in Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

The news broke today during Paramount’s panel for Terminator: Dark Fate at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day Blu-ray review

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Directed by James Cameron
Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong, Robert Patrick
Lionsgate Home Entertainment
Release date: July 17, 2018 (Endoarm Box Set)

Terminator 2 remains one of the most important films of my life. Nine years old in 1991, the TV ads for it drove me into a frenzy and my dad’s bad judgment or not allowed me to watch the original before taking me to see T2 in theaters on opening weekend. It was the first movie I ever saw multiple times in theaters, and 27 years later it still holds up as one of the greatest films of all time. It is a masterpiece of action set pieces, drama, music and violence. Titanic and Avatar be damned, THIS is James Cameron’s magnum opus. Now there is new 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray bundle available, giving home viewers the chance to enjoy one of the most epic films in the most epic way.

Watch Now: ‘Game Of Thrones’ Characters Arya Stark and The Hound In ‘Terminator 2’

Game of Thrones -- Arya Stark & The Hound Image

Did a certain scene from the hit HBO series Game of Thrones featuring Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and Sandor “The Hound” Clegane (Rory McCann) make you think of another scene involving a kid and a ruthless killing machine from the sci-fi classic Terminator 2: Judgment Day? Me neither! Plus, you probably have no idea which scenes I’m talking about, and that doesn’t help you at all.

But it did remind one fan, YouTube user javieralvarez, of a scene in Terminator 2, in which a young John Connor (Edward Furlong) yells at the terminator sworn to protect him (Arnold Schwarzenegger) about not killing everyone. And of course, following the rules of the internet, they then fused the two scenes together for our enjoyment.

You can watch the video below.

Night of the DemonsNight Of The Demons
Blu-ray | DVD
Directed by Adam Gierasch
Starring Edward Furlong, Shannon Elizabeth, Monica Keena, John F. Beach, Diora Baird, Michael Copon
Entertainment One
Release date: October 19, 2010

While today’s horror filmmakers are either curbing the curse words for PG-13 teen-friendly flicks or increasing the realism for torture porn, Adam Gierasch brings us a fun, but spooky tale perfect for Halloween with his remake Night Of The Demons. This remake invokes the spirit of its predecessor — the 1988 Kevin Tenney film of the same name — by employing lots of blood and gore created mostly through practical effects. The two tales are similar in that party-goers unwittingly unleash a horde of demons on Halloween night, but the original film takes place in a mortuary where a séance releases the demons. Gierasch’s version brings the Halloween party to modern-day New Orleans to a mansion with a mysterious past.

It’s Halloween night and Angela Feld (Shannon Elizabeth) is planning the biggest party in town at the Broussard Mansion, a long-unoccupied New Orleans manse whose previous occupants went missing 85 years prior on the same night its owner, Evangeline Broussard, killed herself by hanging. In an effort to make some cash, Angela lures the paying party-goers to the mansion using its spooky history as bait.

Schwarzenegger 4 Movie Collectors DVD SetSchwarzenegger Collector’s Set

Starring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Belushi, Laurence Fishburne, Peter Boyle, Maria Conchita Alonso, Jim Brown, Jesse Ventura, Richard Dawson, Sharon Stone, Michael Ironside, Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong, Robert Patrick

You could make a case for Arnold Schwarzenegger as the greatest action movie superstars of all time. This is a case you would win every single time, because there is no one that tops this man when it comes to the genre. Regardless of what you think of him as a Governor, there is no arguing that his presence in movies has been missed for some years now; and thus, we retreat back to his best works to get our Schwarzenegger fix.

On the bright side, there’s sets like this one being released from time-to-time to help your binging needs. This particular set includes Red Heat, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Running Man, and Total Recall.

When I got the chance to review this new four-movie collector’s set of Schwarzenegger flicks, I jumped at the chance for a couple of reasons: One was because I shockingly had not seen two of them; and also because I even-more shockingly didn’t own any of them.

There’s obviously a good chance that you’ve seen all of the movies reviewed here and know whether you would jump all over this set or pass it by. For this, think of these reviews as more of a recap and my own personal opinion of these intense flicks that likely hold a great deal of nostalgia for many of us.

Week of Geek: Terminator Salvation

I’m going to assume that 99.9% of us have seen at least The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day, if not Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines as well. If you have not, and you’re planning on seeing Terminator Salvation this week, then Geeks of Doom is your place to make sure you at least have some kind of an idea of what the hell is going on.

Keep in mind — I can absolutely promise you that Salvation and any others ever made will not be anywhere near as good as the first two, and I strongly urge you to see them first; but if you just don’t have time and have to get you some Christian Bale action now, hopefully this will help out a little.

Before you continue here, be sure to check out our own BAADASSSSS!’s in-depth and thoughtful retrospect of 1984’s The TerminatorA Look Back At James Cameron’s ‘The Terminator’. Go ahead, I’ll wait.

OK, now that you’ve read up on the first movie, here’s the promised quick recaps of both T2 and T3 so that you can complete the Zelda tri-force and be fully prepared to see Terminator Salvation!
