Mayor Adam West Family Guy

Last month saw the passing of Adam West, who was best known for his role as the title superhero in the 1960’s television series Batman. But while the 88-year-old actor was forever known as Batman, he did have a career beyond the campy TV show, including voicing the character Adam West, the Mayor of Quahog, on FOX’s animated television series Family Guy.

Now, FOX has released a 9-minute highlight reel of West’s appearances in tribute to the late actor. Watch the video here below.

SDCC 2015: ‘Family Guy’ Panel & Official Trailer!

Family Guy Panel Comic-Con

Am I the only one who finds it hard to believe that Family Guy started in 1999 and is about to start it’s 14th (!!!) season? The show about a dysfunctional Rhode Island family, including a sociopathic baby with matricide on his mind, and a borderline alcoholic talking dog, found a committed audience, and gained a huge cult following on FOX. When the show was cancelled, fan demand led to a comeback and with it’s ridiculous brand of sophomoric, immature, and sexually suggestive humor, Family Guy has found its niche in the cultural zeitgeist of Americana. Like many shows on for as long as it’s been, many of the shows quotable lines are part of the lexicon.. What Bart Simpson did in the early 90s for “Cowabunga”, Family Guy has done for “Giggidy” and “IT’S GONNA RAIN!” Show creator and star Seth MacFarlane transitioned to a successful film writer/director (Ted/Ted 2), and even hosted the Academy Awards in 2013.

Check out the panel discussion videos and trailer below.

Must See: Real-Life Peter Griffin From ‘Family Guy’ Cosplay (Video)

Peter Griffin Rides Falkor

We’ve seen countless great cosplayers over the years, many of which put an incredible amount of time and detail into transforming themselves into their favorite fictional characters from movies, TV shows, comic books, video games, and more.

But sometimes simple is best. This is the case with Robert Franzese, who realized one day that he could be a pretty convincing Peter Griffin from the hit animated comedy Family Guy, voiced on the show of course by creator Seth MacFarlane. A quick clothing change later, and it was so. Seriously, you have to see it to believe it. The clincher? He nails the voice. Many cosplayers deliver a perfect look, but it’s much more rare to find those who achieve flawless mimicry via an identical (or at least close) impression of a character’s voice.

Check out a video of Franzese talking about cosplay—including a lovely reminder of one of the reasons why he and cosplayers around the world do what they do—and interacting with New York Comic-Con 2014 attendees below.

Adult Swim Announces New Tim & Eric Pilot, ‘Mike Tyson Mysteries,’ And More

Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim

Cartoon Network’s late night Adult Swim line-up is one of the precious few reasons I still bother having a cable box in my home these days. Within their nightly live-action and animated programming block can be found some of the funniest and imaginative writing and performances to ever be seen on television, along with reruns of Family Guy and American Dad.

The network shrewdly combines more accessible fare like Robot Chicken, Childrens Hospital, and NTSF:SD:SUV with boldly bizarre, short-lived experiments (they really should bring back The Heart, She Holler) to maintain their healthy fanbase and serve as a wonderland of creative freedom. They show no signs of letting up any time soon, and in fact Cartoon Network just released a list of new shows and pilots they have in development for Adult Swim in the coming year.

You can check out the full list here below.

Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley To Leave KISS - Band To Continue As KISS II

Hard rock and heavy metal veterans KISS announced today, April 1, 2013, that founding members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are leaving the band and going into retirement at the end of this year, while the band will go on as KISS II, a lineup featuring NO original members, beginning in 2014.

Before Simmons and Stanley, who formed the group in New York City 40 years ago, can officially begin their quiet rock and roll-free nights and party-less days, they must fulfill their current record company contract for one more album. Therefore, the long-time musical partners have agreed to finally do the sequel to The Elder with Bob Ezrin, stating that the original 1981 album now has a cult following, and they are thinking “long-term” for the fans. The sequel will be called The Elder Reloaded.

Seth MacFarlane On The Status Of The ‘Family Guy’ Movie & Previous Oscar Hosts

Seth MacFarlane Image

It took a while before The Simpsons could make the leap from the small screen to the big screen. The same could be said for Seth MacFarlane’s successful animated hit Family Guy. But that isn’t exactly the first thing on the comedian’s mind right now. After all, he is hosting the Oscars next year, Universal has greenlit the sequel for Ted, and there are still many seasons of Family Guy to get through before he can figure out a story. Speaking to a group of UCLA students at The Oscar Experience College Search – a program that recruits students interested in film careers by letting them hand out the Oscars at the ceremony – MacFarlane talked about the Family Guy movie and shared his thoughts on previous Oscar hosts.

When you have a successful directorial debut like MacFarlane did with Ted, chances are the number of projects offered will increase. It also gives you the creditability you need to start off with or continue any project of your choosing. Universal wants to continue on with Ted – and I am sure MacFarlane does too – and Fox definitely wants a Family Guy movie. But it took almost 20 seasons before a Simpsons movie could get made, so when does a Family Guy movie hit the big screen? Here’s what MacFarlane told Entertainment Weekly:

Edward Scissorhands

It’s been over two decades since Johnny Depp played Edward Scissorhands in the beloved Tim Burton movie of the same name. The actor has gone on to become one of the biggest stars on the planet, but recently decided to play the character again, and in the most unexpected of places.

Depp was asked to get back into his 22-year-old character to voice a cutaway joke on the Fox animated series, Family Guy. As it turns out, the actor is a fan of the show and was happy to oblige.
