Cuphead Gameplay Video

Last year we found out about an amazing looking game called Cuphead, a side-scrolling platformer game uniquely presented in the same style as an old 1930s animated cartoon.

The game is on hand at Gamescom 2015, where various people are getting to actually play it. And while it still looks awesome, the 10-minute gameplay video and others you can find online reveal something about Cuphead: it’s really, really hard. Like Dark Souls, you will likely be dying a whole lot.

You can read more about the game and check out the 10 minutes of gameplay as well as a recently released trailer below.

We Happy Few

If you’re a fan of video games it will be very difficult for you to look at a game like We Happy Few from Compulsion Games and not want to dive in immediately, unless you’ve seen it of course, in which case you’re likely already itching to get your hands on it.

Set in 1960s England, the game tosses you into an insane world described as “a drug-fuelled, retrofuturistic city in an alternative 1960s England.” And it looks exactly like you would picture those words looking. It’s A Clockwork Orange on an intense psychedelic drug trip. It’s A Clockwork Orange‘s nightmares after said drug trip. It’s pretty wild looking.

A new trailer for the game has been released for Gamescom 2015, where it was announced that it would be coming to Xbox One. You can read more about the game and check that trailer out, along with a gameplay demo from earlier if you’ve never seen it in action, below.

Scalebound Gameplay

Back at E3 2014 a game called Scalebound was announced via a cinematic trailer. Today at the Gamescom convention, the first gameplay demo for the game was shown to the world.

The game is a third-person action-adventure game that sees you teaming up with your very own dragon, kind of like How to Train Your Dragon but with a much bigger and scarier dragon than adorable little Toothless. If has a Dragon Age meets Monster Hunter sorta feel to it, based just on this gameplay preview. And in addition to the first look at gameplay, it was also revealed that the game will include four-player co-op, though you will still be able to play by yourself if that’s your preference.

You can read more about the game and check out the first gameplay demo below.

Dark Souls III

The Gamescom convention kicked off in Germany today, and there’s been plenty of exciting video game goodness shared already.

The third entry in developer From Software’s massively popular Dark Souls franchise, simply titled Dark Souls III, was officially announced at E3 2015 a couple of months back. Now the first gameplay preview for the trilogy-maker has been unveiled at Gamescom during the Microsoft presentation today.

While Dark Souls II was released on the current generation of consoles, it was first released on the previous generation, making this the first “next-gen” release for the excited fans of the series. You can see what it looks like below.
