Until Dawn Hayden Panettiere

A while back a game was revealed titled Until Dawn that was going to utilize Sony’s motion gaming system, PlayStation Move, then disappeared. At Gamescom 2014 it resurfaced, now as a PS4 title instead of a PS Move title.

The game is basically your every day generic horror movie: a bunch of teens are staying at a cabin in the woods, and there’s a crazy killer on the loose. You know the story. The hook is, you get to control this one, and the choices that you make determine who lives and who dies.

You can read more about the game and check out a trailer below.

Two more impressive actresses have been added to the cast of Wes Craven‘s return to the Scream franchise. True Blood‘s own Sookie Stackhouse, Anna Paquin, and Veronica Mars and Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Kristen Bell have both signed on for roles in Scream 4 (er, SCRE4M, but we hope if we ignore that it’ll go away).

The two new additions join an already huge cast including returning stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox Arquette, and David Arquette, as well as newcomers Emma Roberts (Nancy Drew), Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), Marielle Jaffe (Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief), Rory Culkin (Signs), Nico Tortorella (Make it or Break It), Erik Knudsen (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World), Anthony Anderson (The Departed), Adam Brody (The O.C.), Marley Shelton (Grindhouse), Alison Brie (Mad Men), and Mary McDonnell (Battlestar Galactica).

Scream 4

As many of you should know by now, Scream 4 has constantly been picking up steam over the past few months, and it’s not slowing down now.

After securing main returning stars like Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courteney Cox Arquette, as well as original screenwriter Kevin Williamson and director Wes Craven, it was time to find and acquire some fresh blood.

This began with the casting of Emma Roberts as one of the female heroines (and likely the lead female if this does turn into a second trilogy). Right around the time that Roberts was cast, Heroes star Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin were rumored to be up for parts as well…eventually progressing to confirmations.

HeroesHeroes
Season 2
Starring Masi Oka, Milo Ventimiglia, Hayden Panettiere, Jack Coleman
Universal Home Entertainment
Release date: August 26th, 2008

After going back to re-watch Season 1, and finding myself pleasantly surprised at how well it held up, I also went back and watched the second season of Heroes. You may call me an apologist, but I enjoyed season 2 almost as much as the first one. Did the season have its problems? Sure. A lot of the new characters were dumb and annoying, and their introduction caused characters the audience had grown attached to in the first season to be cast aside. It also didn’t help the show that the writer’s strike occurred just as the story was gaining some speed and becoming more interesting. Having seen some of what the creators had planned for the second half of the season, I’m sad that we didn’t get the story as planned. Still, we get 11 solid episodes on this set, and while they may not be quite as good as the first season, they still have their moments, and are more enjoyable than a lot of other crap on TV.

The episodes on this set cover the entire second season, which saw Hiro (Masi Oka) sent to the past to inspire his childhood hero. We also got Peter’s (Milo Ventimiglia) trip to Ireland, then his trip to the future, followed by his journey to Texas. We got Claire (Hayden Panettiere) and her annoying new boyfriend, the “death” of HRG (Jack Coleman), and then we got to meet Claire’s birth mother.

DVD Review: ‘Heroes’ Season 2

HeroesHeroes
Season 2
Starring Milo Ventimiglia, Hayden Panetierre, Zachary Quinto, Masi Oka, Kristen Bell, Ali Larter, Adrian Pasdar
Universal Home Entertainment
Release Date: August 26, 2008

Heroes is a show that grabbed a ton of fans with its incredible first season. The show was so well-done that an equally good second season was not only expected, but likely guaranteed. What wasn’t expected was the battles that the show would end up having to face along with many other productions as a nasty WGA strike cast a mighty shadow on the near future. Eventually, as depressingly anticipated by all, the strike did end up happening and it did indeed do its fair share of damage.

The NBC superhero drama was forced to completely cut its storyline off, re-write its projected path, and end the season early — an obviously difficult problem to face, like a 27-foot speed bump. The show’s team didn’t back down, though; they stood their ground and did their very best to do what they had to do to offer the best season they could while setting up for a return-to-form in season three.
