Corporate Animals Movie

Screen Media Films has released a NSFW red band trailer for Corporate Animals, an upcoming dark comedy. The movie comes from Patrick Brice, who previously co-wrote, directed, and starred in the awesome 2014 microbudget horror Creep with fellow star and co-writer Mark Duplass, and also wrote and directed The Overnight and co-wrote (with Duplass once again) and directed Creep 2. The screenplay was written by Sam Bain (Four Lions, Peep Show).

The title features an excellent cast, with Demi Moore, Jessica Williams, Karan Soni, Ed Helms, Nasim Pedrad, Isiah Whitlock Jr., and Calum Worthy all starring. In it, Moore plays a CEO who takes her employees on a team building retreat, a trip which turns into a massive disaster.

You can find more info on Corporate Animals and check out the red band trailer below.

In 2007, Frank Darabont brought Stephen King‘s novella The Mist to the big screen and created one of the most jaw-dropping horror films in memory. The story was simple enough: a mysterious mist engulfs a small Maine town. The townfolk flock to a supermarket as monsters begin devouring those left outside. The monsters from the mist end up producing monsters inside as the people quickly turn to fanaticism and violence on each other. The film’s ending is one of legends. I won’t spoil it, but those in my theater were left speechless and motionless throughout the entire credits. A decade later, Danish writer/director Christian Torpe brings the King work to the small screen for a ten-episode run on Spike TV. The Mist is the first of three major adaptations of King’s work coming this year with The Dark Tower due out in theaters in August and the remake of It in September.

SDCC 2013: Europa Report panel banner

Another year, another set of fascinating panels here at San Diego’s Comic-con international 2013. First off this Thursday is a panel for Europa Report, the film Space.com called “One of the most thrilling and realistic depictions of deep-space exploration since Moon and 2001: A Space Odyssey.”

The panelists were director Sebastian Cordero, composer Bear McCreary (composer of Battlestar Galactica and The Walking Dead), producer Ben Browning, and actress Karolina Wydra, alongside JPL scientists Steve Vance and Kevin Hand. Astronomer Dr. Phil Plait moderated.

Starting the panel off, Dr. Plait mentioned that the three reasons we explore space are resources, danger, and simply to explore — sheer curiosity. And sometimes that exploration comes with a price.
