Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark

Alvin Schwartz‘s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark may have been presented as a collection of children’s horror stories that is rooted in folklore and urban legend, but it is the basis of why those same kids who read all three volumes are fans of the horror genre now. I remember reading at least one book when I was a kid, but I’d never thought they would be able to turn all of that into a film.

Now, CBS Films will be releasing an adaptation of the same name. In it, a group of young people attempt to solve a mystery that involves a series of spectacularly horrific deaths in their small hometown. Check out the first look at Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark here below.

Even Palmer (Jonathan Hyde) fought on the rebels’ side until The Master “gifted” him with his presence, to Eichorst’s (Richard Sammel) dismay. Eph (Corey Stoll) finally found Zach (Max Charles) with Kelly (Natalie Brown), and killed her, causing Zach to set off the bomb that decimated the city, both with the weapon and by causing nuclear winter, allowing the strigoi to walk in daylight.

Inside The Strain The Master

Sometimes, you have to marvel at the behind-the-scenes talent of some television shows. We all know that The Strain could not be as freaky as it is, without the Creature FX team, that design the creepy little blind “feelers,” the humans transforming to strigoi, and of course, the various incarnations of the king of the vamps – The Master.

Check out how they do it in the video below.

Then we cut to sullen old Felix working in a restaurant, suspicious of Gus (Miguel Gomez). AND… there’s a girl. Eph (Corey Stoll) and Nora (Mia Maestro) unleashed the vampire plague on the vampire plague, and Eph was gleeful, as it’s working. The infected vamps were committing forced suicide by the Master. Last week on The Strain, Gus (Miguel Gomez) and the rebel vamps make a move on Palmer (Jonathan Hyde), but it does not turn out so well for them. Palmer manages to shock and impress Coco (Lizzie Brocheré) at the same time. Bodyguard Bolivar (Jack Kesy) certainly didn’t help. Silly girl, still believes he is good. We find out that Setrakian (David Bradley) makes a worm potion that does not turn him into a vamp, but keeps him alive and strong. Nora (Mia Maestro) manages to get that out of him, but promises not to tell. Eph (Corey Stoll) has his hands full with bratty Zach, who really wants his mommy. Don’t worry Zach, Mommy’ll find you. Eph tries yelling and scaring him, which never works. One win – they manage to infect their male human guinea pig vamp, and plan to set him free to infect more vamps. Staten Island is vampire free.
