Tron: Legacy

In the past few weeks there have been talks of Tron 3 shooting in Vancouver this fall. The tentatively titled Tron: Ascension will bring back Joseph Kosinski as director. While reports suggested that Garrett Hedlund would be returning to reprise his role as Sam Flynn, it was unclear if Olivia Wilde would be returning. At the end of Tron: Legacy, it was revealed that her character, Quorra, had made it out of The Grid, and transferred herself into the real world.

Now a new report says that she is signed on to appear, and also confirms that Hedlund is on board for the sequel as well. While some may have doubted the sequel even happening, it appears that Tron 3 is on, though we have yet to hear of a confirmation from the Disney themselves. Hit the jump for more.

Tron

Three weeks ago, our own eelyajekiM reported that Walt Disney Pictures had finally decided to pull the trigger on a second sequel to their 1982 cult sci-fi adventure Tron and was reportedly planning to film in Vancouver this Fall. Up until now, it’s been going by the rather generic handle Tron 3, but if a recent tweet from Production Weekly regarding the timeline of the planned shoot is to be taken as gospel, then the sequel could possibly be titled Tron: Ascension.

Tron Legacy

Tron is just that one film franchise that somehow finds a way to make use of its extra lives. Fans were excited to hear that a sequel, Tron: Legacy, would be coming, but it was met with mixed reviews and it barely met box office expectations. With the way the film ended there was hope that a Tron 3 would soon follow.

Since it’s 2010 release, talks of a sequel grew quieter with each passing year. Now a new report says not only is Tron 3 still alive, but it will shoot in Vancouver this fall. Hit the jump for more.

Joseph Kosinski In Talks To Direct The Twilight Zone

After making his directorial debut with Tron: Legacy, and following that up with this year’s Oblivion, Joseph Kosinski has become the face of filmmakers who have great attention to detail when it comes to the visual aspect of a film. Believe me, when you watch those films, you won’t believe the kind of worlds that he is able to create.

The director is currently attached to direct the third installment of the Tron franchise that is tentatively Tr3n, as well as a remake of the Disney cult classic, The Black Hole. But those films might end up on the back burner as he is in talks to direct The Twilight Zone for Warner Bros.

He is joined by Victoria “Vika” Olsen (Andrea Riseborough), a by-the-books navigator with whom he shares a romantic interest. In his Bubbleship – a futuristic hybrid of a jet fighter and a Bell 47 helicopter – Jack works with Vika to repair downed drones and dispatch “Scavs” – the aliens who turned Earth into a wasteland.

Their mission is almost complete. In two weeks Jack and Vika will leave Earth behind forever as they travel to Titan, Saturn’s largest moon. There they will join a lunar colony established by Earth’s survivors. The fateful arrival of a stranger (Olga Kurylenko), however, triggers a series of events that forces Jack to question everything he knows about the war and its aftermath.
