Better Call Saul Episode 1.10 Season Finale Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk)

Better Call Saul
Episode 1.10 “Marco”
Directed by Peter Gould
Written by Peter Gould
Starring Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Michael McKean, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, Kerry Condon
AMC
Air Date: Monday, April 6, 2015, 10pm

It’s been 10 episodes of Better Call Saul and all season long, we’ve been wondering how Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) went from Slippin’ Jimmy the con man to Jimmy McGill, Esq., graduate of online law school University of American Samoa, to criminal lawyer Saul Goodman on AMC’s Breaking Bad. In tonight’s season finale, Episode 1.10 “Marco,” all the details have been revealed and all the dots have been connected.

More so than ever, we see that Jimmy is a criminal at heart — but it’s a good heart. If you think of Mike Ehrmantraut’s (Jonathan Banks) speech in Episode 1.9 after the drug deal about “good criminals and bad cops, bad priests and honorable thieves,” we see the analogy to Jimmy. This is a man who’s smart and quick on his feet; people like him and are drawn to him; he’s a good talker; he can convince people to do things — but what to do with those powers? According to Jimmy’s brother Chuck (Michael McKean), Slippin’ Jimmy with a law degree is dangerous. And he’s right, a Slippin’ Jimmy who knows the law is someone to watch out for.

In this week’s installment of Better Call Saul, Episode 1.9 “Pimento,” Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) has some extreme highs and some very low lows as he deals with the class-action law suit and the possibility of partnering up with his brother Chuck (Michael McKean) and Chuck’s law partner Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian). For the next installment, Episode 1.10 “Marco,” which is the Season 1 finale, AMC has released a sneak peek, which centers on Jimmy meeting up with Kim and facing the consequences of the deal with Hamlin.

Better Call Saul 1.9 Pimento Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks)

AMC’s Better Call Saul Episode 1.9 “Pimento” aired Monday night and we got to see Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) really reach for the stars with the case-action law suit he’s created, while Mike (Jonathan Banks) takes a giant leap towards life in the underworld.

The network has released the “most talked about scene” from the episode, which sees Jimmy talking to Chuck about what happened with Howard Hamlin at the law offices. AMC has also released a behind-the-scenes featurette that’s a 5-minute “Inside Look” at the episode, which looks at Jimmy’s decision to go to HMM law offices and the outcome of that decision.

Better Call Saul Episode 1.9 Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) and Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk)

Better Call Saul
Episode 1.9 “Pimento”
Directed by Thomas Schnauz
Written by Thomas Schnauz
Starring Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Michael McKean, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, Kerry Condon
AMC
Air Date: Monday, March 30, 2015, 10pm

In Better Call Saul Episode 1.9 “Pimento,” Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) finally has a way to make it out of the mailroom, so to speak, at the Hamlin, Hamlin, and McGill law offices. Jimmy has stumbled upon a valid case-action law suit, but it’s too big for him and his lawyer-on-hiatus older brother, Chuck (Michael McKean), to handle. So, much to his reluctance and at Chuck’s behest, Jimmy agrees to reach out to his nemesis Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian) at HHM on the case to go after the Sandpaper Crossing Assisted Living facility, which has seemingly been mishandling (i.e., stealing) the finances of their elderly residents.

Meanwhile, in an effort to help his widowed daughter-in-law and his granddaughter with their finances, Mike (Jonathan Banks) takes on a new gig outside his little parking lot clerk booth. After years in law enforcement, the former Philly cop is taking an off-the-books job, so to speak.

Better Call Saul Episode 107 Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk)

Warning – Spoilers for Better Call Saul Episode 1.7 “Bingo.”

AMC’s Better Call Saul Episode 1.7 “Bingo” aired Monday night and it brought the Kettlemans back to Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), who must decide whether he wants to be their lawyer now that they’ve fired his rival’s law firm. It should be a triumphant moment for Jimmy, who was nearly killed earlier in the season when his scheme to attract their business backfired and he came face-to-face for the first time with the crazed thug Tuco Salamanca. But, instead of gloating, Jimmy has no interest in taking on their embezzlement case, but the Kettlemans have something to hold over Jimmy, which makes him reassess the entire situation.

The network has released the “most talked about scene” from the episode, which sees Jimmy arrive at the Kettleman home to talk to them about his decision whether to represent them. AMC has also released a behind-the-scenes featurette that’s a 4-minute “Inside Look” at the episode which touches upon a lot of elements, like Jimmy and Kim’s relationship; Jimmy’s new office; Kim’s failure with the Kettlemans; Jimmy’s brother Chuck’s progress; Mike and Jimmy’s growing teamwork; and all the trouble that the Kettlemans are.

Better Call Saul 106

Better Call Saul
Episode 1.6 “Five-O”
Directed by Adam Bernstein
Written by Gordon Smith
Starring Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Michael McKean, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, Kerry Condon, Omid Abtahi, Barry Shabaka Henley
AMC
Air Date: Monday, March 9, 2015, 10pm

Better Call Saul Episode 1.6 “Five-O” centered solely on Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks), with the show’s regular cast of characters nowhere to be found except for main man Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), who finds himself as Mike’s lawyer. After nearly four seasons on AMC’s Breaking Bad and five episodes on this first season of Saul, we finally learn about Mike’s past and what might have driven him to go from being a 30-year veteran of the Philadelphia Police Department to the henchman of drug kingpin Gus Fring.

“Five-O” pretty much spells it all out for us. And I don’t know about you, but the reveal is nothing I had anticipated, especially after the ending of the previous episode, “1.5 Alpine Shepherd Boy,” left us thinking that something nefarious was going on with Mike and the woman he was watching.
