Avengers: Endgame

“Heroes, it’s an old-fashioned notion.” That’s a quote from Nick Fury said in The Avengers, when Earth’s Mightiest Heroes were at their lowest. Defeated, they eventually rallied together to defeat a common enemy when the people of Earth needed it. Little did these heroes know, the Earth and the entire universe would need them again. Needless to say, all roads lead to Avengers: Endgame.

The latest special look video takes a look back at 21 films, 11 years, and 11 franchises that make up the grand mosaic that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers: Endgame

Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, also known as the Russo brothers, have been a part for the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2014, when they directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Their unique take on the superhero genre with an added political thriller vibe was so much of a success that they were brought in to oversee Captain America: Civil War, a smaller scale ensemble that brought in other heroes together to fight amongst themselves. They eventually went on to direct the final two Avengers films, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, the latter of which hits theaters later this month.

Geeks of Doom was invited to participate in the global press conference for Avengers: Endgame, where the Russo brothers talked about the upcoming and possibly final Avengers film, their approach to making films, and more. Check out what they had to say below.

Spider-Man: Far From Home

The future of Marvel Studios may be looking bright with its steady stream of successful movies, but many of us do not know what is beyond Spider-Man: Far From Home. Sure, there’s The Eternals, Black Panther 2, Doctor Strange 2, and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3. But there’s also Disney’s acquisition of Fox, which means Marvel now has access to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four.

But while it stands to reason that many of the films that are already in production will be confirmed and that the X-Men and Fantastic Four will be a part of Phase 4, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says they won’t be making any official announcements for their five-year plan until after Far From Home. More on the report below.

Of course, he had some help with the Infinity Stones. Now the Avengers want revenge. And they will have some added help from a mostly absent Captain Marvel (Brie Larson). But she has a very good explanation for that. Check out what the Avengers’ plan of attack will be and if they can survive Thanos’ brutality in a newly released clip, which you can watch below.

Avengers Endgame

“Even there is a small chance, we owe this to everyone who is not in this room, to try,” says Black Widow in the new trailer for Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame. “Whatever it takes,” adds Captain America. Sure enough, The Avengers, or what’s left of them, are going to be damn sure they will avenge.

The film takes place after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, and sees a brand new team rallying together after the devastating loss they suffered. They will do whatever it takes. ‘Captain Marvel’ Interview: Directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck Talk Marvel’s First Female Standalone and ’90s Nostalgia

Captain Marvel Header Image

Though there have been many strong female characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain Marvel is the first time that Marvel Studios brings its fans a female superhero standalone film. The film sees Brie Larson play Carol Danvers, a highly skilled soldier of Star Force, an elite Kree peacekeeping force, separated from her troop when she crash lands on the planet Earth. Determined to reunite with her team, she soon discovers that she has a deep connection with this planet, and starts to search for the clues that could help unlock the memories of her mysterious past.

We were invited to attend the Captain Marvel press junket with our fellow journalists to talk to Larson, Lashana Lynch (Maria Rambeau), Jude Law (Yon Rogg), and Gemma Chan (Doctor Minerva). Additionally, MCU alum members Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson) also attended to chat about appearing in the upcoming film.

As much as this is a continuation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain Marvel holds so much more meaning for the studio. It’s Marvel Studios’ first female standalone film, and one with such an empowering message and a character who will be a symbol of inspiration to everyone, especially young girls. And that would not have been possible without directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who took their character-driven story approach to the upcoming film. Find out more about their leap from small films to Marvel Studio blockbuster tentpoles below.
