A&W and Van Gogh (Marina Benedict, Steve Mouzakis) went to the NSA and found Michael (Wentworth Miller) and company with a drone, but Van Gogh snuck off to make sure that ISIL found them too. The boys were able to thwart them, but Cyclops (Amin El Gamal) showed up. They split up to throw him off. Last week on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, they ran into The Justice Society of America in 1942. And by “ran into” I mean “got captured by.” Nate Haywood (Nick Zano) was giddy because he met his grandfather, Commander Steel (Matthew MacCaull), and tried to prove the familial connection through his dog-tags, and personal stories. We saw two of our favorite presently dead villains in the past, Eobard Thawne and Damian Darhk (Matt Letscher and Neal McDonough), in cahoots with each other and the Nazis, for nukes and a super serum. Sarah (Caity Lotz) tried to kill Darhk to prevent Laurel’s death, and Thawne ended up killing Rex Tyler (Patrick J. Adams), spurring Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) to blame Mick (Dominic Purcell).

Last week’s episode of The Flash was spectacular. Everybody was in this crossover episode. The Flash crew turned to the Arrow crew for help in saving Hawkman and Hawkgirl (Falk Hentschel and Ciara Renee) from an immortal madman, Vandal Savage (Casper Crump). This episode was the first half of the Legends of Tomorrow setup. Patty (Shantel VanSanten) shot Wells (Tom Cavanagh), and Jay had to take a speed drug to remove the bullet from his heart with his hands. It was one of the funniest episodes of The Flash to date. And that’s saying something.

Last week on Supergirl, we were formerly introduced to Maxwell Lord (Peter Facinelli), a rich genius. I can’t tell if he is a good guy or a bad one. He gets kidnapped by Reactron, Superman’s foe, who comes after Kara (Melissa Benoist) after her exclusive interview with Cat (Calista Flockhart). Kara gets in over her head, and has to be saved by her cousin, thanks to James (Mechad Brooks) calling for help. Cat throws a magazine launch party that gets crashed by Reactron, of course. But Supergirl saves the day, wih some help from Hank Henshaw (David Harewood) and the DEO. James’s ex, Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) comes to work for CatCo.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returned last week with a brand new season, and with it, a bit of a new direction as well. In the opening scene of Episode 3.2 “”Purpose in the Machine,” we saw the introduction of a new Inhuman, jumpstarting Daisy’s (Chloe Bennet) and Coulson’s (Clark Gregg) search for more of her kind in hopes of forming a S.H.I.E.L.D. regulated group of secret warriors (see what I did there?). We were also introduced to a new shadow organization with deep ties to the U.S. government, because with Hydra out of the picture (for now), someone’s got to play spy vs. spy with S.H.I.E.L.D. And finally — Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) was being chased around on some alien planet by who knows what, while her best friend Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) screamed uncontrollably at the monolith (trust me, it was intense) that brought her there.

But what about Ward (Brett Dalton)? Or May (Ming-Na Wen)? Or May’s gun that she brought with her on sabbatical?

Spoilers ahead…

The Flash All Star Team Up

The Flash
Season 1 Episode 18: “All Star Team Up”
Directed by Kevin Tancharoen
Written by Grainne Godfree and Kai Yu Wu
Starring Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Rick Cosnett, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdez, Tom Cavanagh
The CW
Air Date: Tuesday, April 14th, 2015, 8:00pm

The Flash! Oh how we’ve missed you the last two weeks! We did have awesome videos to console us like “Superhero Fight Club,” an inside look at this episode, and even got a little preview of “All Star Team Up”.

Last week we got a mega geek treat with Mark Hammil as the Trickster. We all swooned when he told his protege, “I am your father.” On top of that, the Master-Padawan moment I referenced was Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) guiding Barry (Grant Gustin) on how to get to a speed to pass through solid objects, and all but said, “Feel the Force.” This led Barry to be sure that he was the Reverse Flash. Flashback to the night Barry’s mom was killed. Dr. Wells is… not Dr. Wells? We see the entire ugliness. Happy Dr. Wells was run off the road, his wife Tess died, Reverse Flash sucked the life out of him and assumed his identity, all because he got locked in the past after murdering Barry’s mom.

The Flash 1.18 “All Star Team Up” review: The verdict? This episode is deserving of the mega-buildup it generated. Each millisecond was hypnotizing.

Kevin Tancharoen's The Gable 5

Kevin Tancharoen‘s live-action web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy was incredibly popular with fans of the Mortal Kombat video games who maybe weren’t so fond of feature movies that have been made in the past. Be sure to check out the pitch trailer and season one and season two of that if you haven’t already.

Tancharoen made Mortal Kombat: Legacy with Machinima, so it’s natural that the two are teaming up once again for his next project, a short film titled The Gable 5. The short stars Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dollhouse actress Eliza Dushku.

You can read a synopsis and watch the short below now.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy II

Back in 2010 we saw a great live-action short titled Mortal Kombat: Rebirth that was made by Kevin Tancharoen in hopes of selling Warner Brothers on the idea of a new Mortal Kombat movie. The movie sadly hasn’t arrived yet, but from that short a very popular web series called Mortal Kombat: Legacy was born.

Now, two years after season one of the web series was released, a second season titled Mortal Kombat: Legacy II is near. An official release date for season two has been set and a new trailer is here as well, both of which can be found along with a description below.

Check Out Kevin Tancharoen’s Pitch Reel For His Vision Of ‘The Hunger Games’

Hunger Games Pitch Reel Header

There’s nothing entirely new about the idea of pitch reels or sizzle reels. Often times these tools are used by filmmakers to pitch their ideas to studio execs. Essentially the videos give some insight on what the hopeful director wants to accomplish. Joe Carnahan’s pitch for Daredevil gave us the impression that he would of brought a gritty real world feel for The Man without Fear. Unfortunately, we may never be able to see Carnahan’s take on Daredevil since Fox is choosing to let that property go.

These visual pitches are usually put together by a director to show studio execs, what he has planned for a certain film. Whether or not they get the job depends on how well the reel is received and how well the pitch is thrown. Now we are getting look at Kevin Tancharoen’s pitch for The Hunger Games, and it looks a bit different from what Gary Ross has given us back in March.

Check it here out below.
