Dynamite Entertainment
Release Date: June 27, 2012

In Kirby Genesis: Silver Star #6 there’s a LOT going on. Unfortunately, I didn’t like much of it, to be honest. While it was a good effort, I found myself SO lost in this comic, that I almost gave up reading it. But for you, dear readers, I stuck with it.

Writer Jai Nitz had me SO confused with this issue I don’t know where to start. This comic is ALL over the map, it seems there’s more than a handful of Silver Stars and a number of his villains (who are also all the same person), that I really had a problem knowing just who was who and who I should be routing for. There’s also a little girl, that I THINK turns into a love interest in the end, but I honestly don’t know. I’m afraid this comic falls victim to some VERY confusing storytelling. A narrative or re-cap paragraph would’ve helped immensely here.

GoD List Banner

Each and every week “Let’s Go Red Wings!” MK2Fac3 and “Clap! Clap! Clap, Clap, Clap!” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of January 25, 2012. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

The other day, I was staring down the barrel of a 30-issue stack of comics with wide eyes and a full heart. By the time I got halfway through, the fact of the matter is that my eyes were starting to squint and my heart shrunk 10 sizes. I’m kind of the reverse-Grinch after he stole Christmas. But only with comics. And really, it’s tough to get excited about comics, because honestly… they let you down a lot of times. So, it’s always a good thing when you find a couple of people that can give you guidance on what are safe bets for things that don’t suck. Hopefully we are those people for you, and when we’re not certain on what’s going to be good or not, we tell you honestly. If there’s one thing you can trust, we’re not here to promote companies, we’re here to promote comics that we enjoy and that we think that you will enjoy.

So, enjoy this, The GoD List, your place for weekly comics and collections!

I have to admit, I’ve fallen a little behind in the Kirby: Genesis universe, but Captain Victory #1 really intrigued me when it was announced a few months ago, and I’m happy to report, it is exactly what I’d hoped that it would be. A good old-fashioned sci-fi action comic, with a few twists and turns thrown in to make things interesting.

GoD List Banner

Each and every week “The Second City Saint” Henchman21 and “The Murfreesboro Madman” MK2FAC3 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of July 27, 2011. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

On last week’s The GoD List, the evil Henchman21 messed up his death trap when he mistakenly put boiling hot voile into a pit that was to fill with boiling hot oil, but this week he has developed another dastardly plan to destroy the dynamic MK2FAC3. This week, “Two Ton Twenty-One” tries to abolish “THE FAC3″ when he’s strapped into an egg chair and is forced to listen to nothing but 70’s and 80’s prog rock until he sinks into a Floyd Hole. Will “THE FAC3″ be able to escape the demented deathtrap of “THE HENCH”? Or will “THE SECOND CITY SAINT” finally be able to exact revenge for “THE WEEK OF TWO FAC3S”?

You can give this edition of The GoD List a CGC rating of 9.6, as long as you promise not to read it.
