Liam Neeson In Taken 3 (Tak3n)

Reminder: there’s another Taken movie on the way! The first trailer for the trilogy-maker, which is choosing to go with the quite silly official title of Tak3n (no, seriously), has been released online by 20th Century Fox.

The movie, which once again stars Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, and Famke Janssen, takes the Fugitive route with Bryan Mills being framed for murder.

You can watch the first trailer and read a synopsis below.

Claire (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) is under the grip of a mysterious cult. Desperate to be reunited with their daughter, Claire’s parents set out to recruit Ansel Roth (Leland Orser), one of the world’s foremost authorities on mind control.

Ansel’s specialty, deprogramming cult members and returning them to their families, is not an exact science. Mistakes were made, lives were lost. Now, even his own book publisher is looking to break his legs. Ansel desperately needs the cash that Claire’s parents (played by Chris Ellis and Beth Grant) are offering to pay his debts and continue his meager existence.

And so Ansel kidnaps Claire and brings her to a remote motel for deprogramming. But Claire reveals herself to be a formidable challenge for the old pro; her belief is unshakeable and her logic is undeniable. She can even, she claims, turn invisible and walk through walls. A battle of will develops between the two, and as they delve deeper into each other’s minds, the question soon becomes, who is the one being deprogrammed?

Script Review Of Robert Rodriguez’s ‘Predators’ Reveals All Kinds Of Juicy Details; Our Dream Cast Shared!

Predator

Latino Review worked that magic that only they know how to work and got hold of a draft of producer Robert Rodriguez‘s Predators script. With this script comes a reveal of full details of the movie, including characters, setting, premise, and possible rumor confirmation. The draft that was read is dated July of 2009, so it has to be the working draft, or at least severely close to it. Be sure to head over to the source site for their great video with all of the details.

The tricky thing in all of this is that it’s through Fox, but the studio does seem bent on making up for the unspeakable Alien vs. Predator disaster pieces. From this script review, we learn one very important detail: it’s built as an ultra-violent, hard R-rated movie, as it should be. If Fox allows director Nimród Antal and Rodriguez to let it all fly free and doesn’t try and impose on them to tone it down for a broader audience, we could be in for quite a treat.

Click over to the other side for story details and a run down of the characters with our Christmas wish list of actors to fill the roles! There will be small spoilers of how the film will set up, so if you don’t enjoy knowing anything, avert your eyes.

“Turn it off! Turn if off! TURN IT OFF!”
— Jake VanDorn from Hardcore

“Come on, Bennett, throw away that chicken-shit gun. You don’t just want to pull a trigger. Put the knife in me and look me in the eye and see what’s going on in there when you turn it.”
— John Matrix from Commando

“I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.”
— Bryan Mills from Taken

Taken: An Efficient Dog Of War

We live in uncertain economic times. A night out at the movies has to be worth the price of admission. People want to escape from their lives for a few hours. They want to escape into the dark theaters for entertainment, for escapism. It does not surprise me that Paul Blart: Mall Cop was number one at the North American box office for two weekends in a row. I have not seen the film and I must say I have very little interest in seeing it, but I see the appeal very clearly. You can take the whole family to see it. Does it surprise anyone that Marley And Me and Bedtime Stories did as well as they did during the holiday season? It should not; these are films that whole families can go see and enjoy together.
