Hugh Jackman is the Wolverine

With April Fools’ Day tomorrow you might think this is an early joke based on that headline, but I assure you it is not.

While Wolverine: The Musical is obviously not a real thing, Hugh Jackman was recently a guest on The Matt Edmondson Show on BBC Radio and dusted off his Oscar-nominated Jean Valjean voice from Les Miserables for a new rendition of the song “Who Am I?” custom made for the nonexistent Wolverine musical.

You can check out a video of Jackman singing the song below.

Les Miserables PosterLes Misérables
Directed by Tom Hooper
Written by William Nicholson
Starring: Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Helena Bonham Carter
Universal Pictures
Rated PG-13 | 160 minutes
Release Date: December 25th, 2012

Tom Hooper‘s new film, Les Misérables, is based on the musical production by Alain Boublil, Claude-Michel Schönberg, and Herbert Kretzmer, which is of course based upon the 1862 French novel by Victor Hugo.

This musical film adaptation, scripted by William Nicholson (Gladiator), features Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, a Frenchman imprisoned for stealing bread, who breaks parole and must escape the tireless police Inspector Javert (Russell Crowe).

The pursuit consumes both men’s lives, and after two decades on the run, Valjean finds himself in the midst of the 1832 June Rebellion in Paris where he must confront Javert for the last time. The film’s ensemble is comprised of Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, and the humorous duo of Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen, who play shifty innkeepers.

Les Misérables: Highlights From The Motion Picture Soundtrack

Les Misérables: Highlights From The Motion Picture Soundtrack, music from the film Les Misérables starring Hugh Jackman, is now available on MP3 format from Amazon for only $5. The CD is available for only $11.88.

The soundtrack contains 20 songs from the movie, which opens in theaters tomorrow, Christmas Day, with songs performed by lead actors Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, and Russell Crowe, as well as by the other cast members, like Samantha Barks on the stand-out track “On My Own” and Sacha Baron Cohen belting out “Master Of The House.” Growing up in New York where Les Misérables has been a staple on Broadway for decades, I can tell you that these songs are all great and from the footage I’ve seen from the upcoming movie, you won’t be disappointed with this big-screen adaptation of the classic Victor Hugo tale and its rendition of the musical’s memorable tunes.

For only $5, this soundtrack is a steal. Also – MP3 albums make great gifts, especially last-minute! See below on how to “gift” this album.

Samuel L. Jackson & Anne Hathaway In A Sad Off

The holiday season usually brings cheer and glee to family and friends, but if you are planning to see a new movie on that day, then you will probably be slapped with some sad stories. That’s because both Les Miserables and Django Unchained open on that day, and both films have rather depressing stories.

So the team at Funny or Die brought Anne Hathaway and Samuel L. Jackson, actors who starred in the two films, to a competition to prove which film is more sad. Check it out below.

Les Miserables Header

Anne Hathaway has shown that she has the skills to carry a tune at the Academy Awards, but that was just for a mere skit. Now she is taking that skill to Tom Hooper’s adaptation of the critically acclaimed musical Les Misérables. Based on the Victor Hugo novel of the same name, Universal has released the first trailer for the film, but instead of focusing on the various characters of the musical, the trailer’s focus of attention is on Hathaway as Fantine singing “I Dreamed a Dream.” You can check out the trailer below.

Hugh Jackman plays Jean Valjean and Russell Crowe takes the role of Inspector Javert. The film also stars Amanda Seyfried, Samantha Barks, Eddie Redmayne, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sacha Baron Cohen.
