“I just thought we could sing Seal together, like normal families do.”

Following in the footsteps of his father Clark (Chevy Chase), a grown-up Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms) surprises his wife, Debbie (Christina Applegate), and their kids, Kevin (Steele Stebbins) and James (Skyler Gisondo), with a cross-country trek to America’s favorite family fun park: Walley World. As you might imagine, everything that can go wrong, does.

Written and directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (Horrible Bosses), Vacation is the fifth theatrical installment in the National Lampoon’s Vacation series. Believe it or not, the character of Rusty Griswold has been played by six different actors: Anthony Michael Hall, Jason Lively, Johnny Galecki, Ethan Embry, Travis Greer and Ed Helms.

Vacation header

Warner Bros. has just released the final red band theatrical trailer for the Vacation reboot. Ed Helms stars as an all grown up Rusty Griswold, who carries on the Griswold tradition of unnecessarily taking his family on a cross country vacation to Walley World, in order to bring his family together, just like in the first film. Christina Applegate plays his wife, Debbie.

As the red band card suggests, this is a very NSFW trailer, so if you really want to see it, put some headphones on, or just wait until you get home. But if you do choose the latter, check out the trailer below.

This Is 40 PosterThis Is 40
Directed by Judd Apatow
Written by Judd Apatow
Starring: Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, John Lithgow, Megan Fox, Albert Brooks
Universal Pictures
Rated R | 134 minutes
Release Date: December 21st, 2012

In Judd Apatow‘s latest film, This Is 40, the writer/director revisits characters he created in 2007’s Knocked Up and examines the foibles of marriage.

Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) are a married couple in their 40s with children (Mann’s real-life daughters, Maude and Iris Apatow) under pressure, both economic and emotional.

This sort-of sequel to Knocked Up is Apatow’s first directorial effort since 2009’s Funny People. The filmmaker has been busy producing films like Get Him to the Greek, Bridesmaids, and The Five-Year Engagement – movies that fulfill the director’s artistic mission to blend requisite adult humor and layers of emotional depth all while exploring immaturity and characters who are forced to accept the curveballs life throws at them.

This Is 40 Header

There’s a new trailer for the upcoming Judd Apatow comedy This is 40. The film is the sort of sequel to Knocked Up and will follow the characters Pete and Debbie (Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, respectively) as they enter their 40s. Check out the trailer below.

The new trailer doesn’t pack a comedic punch the way the first trailer did. Instead it pushes for the drama aspect of the film as it tries to convey the difficulties most parents and married couples experience when they are approaching their 40s. Trying to balance out a life with kids, a money grubbing father (Albert Brooks), and rekindling a relationship can’t be easy. So I am anxious to see how Apatow is able to balance out the drama with comedy in the film. Plus I just wanted to see more of Pete and Debbie, as they were my favorite characters in Knocked Up.

ParaNorman Header

Putting together a full-length stop-motion animated feature is perhaps the most tedious thing to watch. Every movement has to be just right, it may be a long process, but it will all pay off in the end. So now a new featurette for ParaNorman shows just how important it is to get things right. Check out the video below.

The production process for a stop-motion animated feature is just amazing. Watching the ParaNorman animators piece together all the characters, design the set pieces, and make the puppets move is something that future filmmakers and animators will truly enjoy. But if you’re of the group that just loves these behind-the-scenes footage, then I suggest you watch the video below.
