“We in the market right now for, like, a gangster pet.”

Directed by Peter Atencio (Key & Peele, The Last Man on Earth), Keanu is the age-old story of two friends who pose as ruthless gangbangers to retrieve a stolen kitten named Keanu, which – as we all know – is Hawaiian for “cool breeze over the mountains.”

Jordan Peele stars as Rell, a soft-spoken stoner whose life is forever changed when the most precious of kittens shows up at his doorstep. A graphic artist, Rell makes little Keanu the subject of his next artistic endeavor: a calendar where the kitten plays assorted characters from iconic movies like The Shining, Heat, and New Jack City. But when Cheddar (Method Man), the leader of the notorious 17th Street Blips, steals the cat, Rell and his straight-laced cousin Clarence (Keegan-Michael Key) are forced into action.

Fans of Comedy Central’s Key & Peele will be excited to see the trailer for Keanu, a new movie featuring the two stars of the sketch comedy show, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.

Turbo Header

A snail that dreams of being as fast as a NASCAR race car is perhaps the most clique thing ever. Obviously it can work as some sort of inspiration/motivational story for a younger audience, and thankfully DreamWorks Animation saw the potential in that and created Turbo.

The film centers on a snail (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) who dreams of racing in the big leagues. And the trailer leads you to believe he can do it up until the end that is. Of course this being a teaser, there isn’t a whole lot to get into. Check out the first trailer and synopsis for Turbo below.

The Last Stand

Ever since his career as governor of California came to a close Arnold Schwarzenegger has been working overtime getting his chiseled mug back into the world of action cinema. Last weekend he returned to theaters with an expanded role in The Expendables 2, but the Austrian Oak won’t be seen in a starring since making his comeback until next January when The Last Stand hits theaters.

Here’s a first look at the movie via a newly released trailer. You can check it out here below.

Schwarzenegger plays former Ray Owens, a former Los Angeles cop who has taken on the job of sheriff in a sleepy border town. When one of the biggest drug lords in the world (Eduardo Noriega) makes a spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy and heads for Owens’ town at top speed with a hostage and a gang of ruthless thugs in town the sheriff must gather his meager forces and stop the drug lord from getting across the border and evading justice forever.

Fighting DVDFighting
Unrated & Theatrical Versions
Directed by Dito Montiel
Starring Channing Tatum, Terrence Howard, Zulay Henao, Luis Guzman
Universal Studios Home Entertainment
Release Date: August 25, 2009

Fighting tells the story on a down-and-out young man named Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum) who gets by selling cheap products on the streets of New York City. When one of his transactions doesn’t go so well, he finds himself in a fight with a few guys, who he handles with ease. Later that night, he sees a man who witnessed the earlier altercation, as well as a kid who grabbed his money. When he goes in to get what’s his, the man, named Harvey (Terrence Howard), makes him a proposition he just can’t refuse: the chance to fight and walk away with $5,000. He eventually gains a reputation in the city as an underground fighting talent, which leads to a possible showdown with a nemesis from his past, and a romance with a woman who may be hiding a secret.

The movie starts off all right at first, but as each moment passed by, it consistently lost control of itself, where it wanted to go, and what it wanted to be. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a movie that was so confused within itself before, and it was difficult to watch at times. Yes, the feared train wreck analogy is perfectly fitting here.

Fair warning, there are semi-spoilers after this point, though they’re not significant enough to alter what your experience will be.
