Disney's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms Title Card

It’s the time of the season, and what better way to celebrate that time than to have images promoting a Christmas movie. Of course, there are many remakes and reboots of classic Christmas movies. So it should come as no surprise to anyone that Disney has released the first images for a new vision of The Nutcracker. Disney’s take will be called The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Directed by Lasse Hallström, the film will be based on an adaptation of E.T.A. Hoffmann’s 1816 German fairy tale, which was turned into a ballet by Tchaikovsky.

Now we are getting a first look at the film, which is due to hit theaters late next year. Check out the first two images here below.

The Little Prince trailer header

The Little Prince is an animated adaptation of the children’s book of the same name. The film showed plenty of promise since it debuted at the Cannes Film Festival last year and has grossed an estimated 80 million in overseas markets. But Paramount Pictures has pulled the film from its schedule one week before its release. But if you think that means that it is the end, well, there is some hope for you yet as the film is now on the lookout for a new distributor and is expected to hit theaters sometime this year.

The Little Prince 2015

The Little Prince

Distributor: Paramount Pictures
Rated G | 108 Minutes
Release Date: March 18, 2016 (U.S. limited release) | March 25, 2016 (U.S. wide release)

The Little Prince has been adapted. Again. But, for those who are tired of the onslaught of adaptations and sequels, the new film adaptation manages to do something quite “novel,” to turn a phrase. Director Mark Osborne has constructed something to surprise people familiar with the work without alienating those fans in the least.

The plot device of The Little Prince lay in the character of an un-named little girl (Mackenzie Foy), the only child of a single mother (Rachel McAdams) who’s fiercely dedicated to bringing her daughter up with the best opportunities available. Mind you, no one’s downtrodden and there’s not a lick of poverty in the film; rather, it’s as much an exploration of middle class upward mobility (that’s only too American) as it is anything else. Our little girl is bright, fun loving, and shy — nearly the inverse of our Little Prince. She meets the titular character through The Aviator, an ancient man played by Jeff Daniels who mirrors the spirit, life experiences, and adventures of the author of the original work: Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

The Little Prince trailer header

Paramount Pictures has released the newest trailer for Mark Osborne‘s adaptation of The Little Prince. Based on the 1943 novel of the same name by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, this is the book’s first feature animated adaptation. It actually had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year in an out-of-competition screening, and was eventually released a few months in France in the summer. So this is North America’s first real look at the film.

For those who are not familiar with The Little Prince, the book centers on a young girl, whose meticulous mother wants her to grow up too fast. However, their eccentric neighbor, helps the young girl take hold of her childhood by telling her the story of a boy called the “Little Prince”, whom he supposedly encountered in a desert when his plane crashed. While some may consider The Aviator a distraction, The Little Girl finds her neighbor’s story intriguing, and soon she will go on a life-changing adventure involving stars, biplanes, and a cute fox.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2

Summit Entertainment saved the best for last, and those who agonized waiting to see any new footage for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 are now breathing one huge sigh of relief. A new 90-second trailer for the film debuted last night during the MTV Music Video Awards, but just in case you didn’t have a chance to watch it last night, you have another chance to watch here.

Check out the new trailer here below.

Sure seeing Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson holding hands in the trailer may look a bit awkward now, but it looks like some of the major problems in the Breaking Dawn Part 2 come from the film’s visual effects. But that has been a consistent issue with the entire Twilight film franchise, so much so that it might as well be considered a badge of honor for this series.

MacKenzie Foy Image Is Not First Look At Twilight’s Renesmee

Mackenzie Foy fashion shootBack in October, we reported that child actress MacKenzie Foy had been cast in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn to play Renesmee Cullen, the half-human, half-vamp love child of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan.

An image of Foy has been circulating online recently with the claim that it’s the first look at the 9-year-old actress in the role of Renesmee, but now Twilight Lexicon has proven this to be false. The photo (see it here at right) is actually from an old fashion shoot Foy did for Garnet Hill Clothing.

I’m not sure why an old photo would all of a sudden be uncovered and spread around as a new image from Breaking Dawn, but it appears everyone was convinced it was from the film because Foy appears to be sitting in the famous Meadow from the film franchise (check out Renesmee’s Mom and Dad rolling around in it in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse here below). Hey, maybe that’s how she got the gig to begin with.

A new name has been cast in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, as announced by author Stephenie Meyer on The Twilight Saga Facebook page.

Meyer reveals that Mackenzie Foy has joined the cast of the two-part final movie. The 9-year-old actress will play the part of (SPOILER Warning?) Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella Swan’s (Kristen Stewart) love-baby, Renesmee Cullen, a half-vampire/half-human member of the Olympic Coven. She’s also the imprintee of Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner)… whatever that might mean. You Twilight fans should all know what this stuff means.
