Channing Tatum

The gleefully violent, vulgar, and witty spy spoof Kingsman: The Secret Service, based on the comic series The Secret Service created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, was destined to get a sequel after grossing $414 million at the global box office last year. Luckily for us fans of the film, writer-director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class), his writing partner Jane Goldman (Stardust, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children), and newcomer leading man Taron Egerton (Eddie the Eagle, Legend) will all be returning for the sequel, which is now going by the name Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

It now appears as if a Hollywood heavy-hitter is preparing to join the colorful, globe-trotting mayhem as 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike star Channing Tatum has signed on to play an unspecified role.

David Goyer Addresses Controversial Man Of Steel Ending

We all have our qualms about the final fight scene between Superman (Henry Cavill) and General Zod (Michael Shannon) in Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel. Some of us may like it, but the majority feels that it strayed too far away from what Superman stands for. Even the level of destruction that Metropolis went through seemed a bit over the top. Regardless if you think Supes killing Zod is okay, or that DC’s major city laid in ruins, like it or not, these events have helped shape the DCCU.

Now, one of comic books most infamous writers has come out to criticize Superman’s most recent origins story. Mark Millar (Kick-Ass, Kingsman: The Secret Service) has admitted that he isn’t a fan of Man of Steel, and has compared the film to Sylvester The Cat catching Speedy Gonzales. More on the story below.

Wolverine Old Man Logan

As a creative consultant for Fox’s Marvel properties, Mark Millar has successfully crafted a cinematic universe with the limited properties that are at his disposal. Both the X-Men: First Class and Wolverine trilogies are coming to a close, and with the untitled third Wolverine movie said to end Bryan Singer’s X-Men Saga, it will be interesting to see how the franchise moves forward from there. We still don’t know much about Wolverine 3, but Hugh Jackman has hinted that it could be based off of the “Old Man Logan” storyline. The problem with that though is that many of the supporting characters and villains currently belong to Marvel Studios.

But Millar doesn’t see that being a major issue, and believes that “the continuity stuff is the most boring side of it” and “keeping it simplified and keeping it generally X-Men universe is a smarter thing to do.” More on his comments here below.

The Wolverine Hugh Jackman Image Header

If a rumor that was recently brought to life by Latino Review’s Umberto Gonzales – a.k.a. “El Mayimbe” – on last week’s episode of the YouTube show Marvel Movie News is to be believed, the next solo silver screen adventure of Wolverine could take the adamantium-clawed mutant superhero several decades into the future.

Gonzales suggested that the Marvel Comics miniseries Wolverine: Old Man Logan, which ran for eight issues from June 2008 to September 2009, might possibly serve as the source material for Hugh Jackman‘s final on-screen solo bow as Wolverine.

Check out the video below to hear Gonzales discuss the rumor. The Wolverine portion begins at 39:15.

Kingsman Header

Kingsman: The Secret Service was the early and unexpected hit of 2015. Thanks to its huge success, the film grew a fanbase, and eventually those fans wanted more. Just a few months back we reported that the Kingsman 2 was in the works, but there seemed to be no confirmation from Mark Millar, whose comic book with Dave Gibbons is the basis for the first movie, or director Matthew Vaughn.

But in a new interview with Vaughn, the director says that he is currently at work writing a script for the sequel. Find out what he had to say about the upcoming film in the video below.
