NYCC 2015 Cosplay

“You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy…”

This weekend the most diverse collection of individuals on our planet have gathered together in New York City at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center for this year’s New York Comic-Con. And a group of our contributing GoDs — (Athena, Danny, Sarah, Max, Eve, and me, Dave3, to be exact) — are here to provide coverage of all the goings-on of NYCC 2015.

Among my favorite things to do is walk the convention floor, checking out all the goodies, meeting artists, creators, exhibitors, fans, and cosplayers. And of course, taking pictures along the way. And I spent the majority of today doing exactly that: perusing the aisles of the convention floor, taking in the sites, the sounds, and the smells of the ever-growing yearly Geekdom collective.

Today’s highlights include a run-in with the Baseball Furies from The Warriors, Princess Sparklefist herself Captain Marvel, and the amazingly amusing webslinger amalgam, Spider-Met!

Anyhoo, hit the jump and check out my photo galleries from today.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy II

Back in 2010 we saw a great live-action short titled Mortal Kombat: Rebirth that was made by Kevin Tancharoen in hopes of selling Warner Brothers on the idea of a new Mortal Kombat movie. The movie sadly hasn’t arrived yet, but from that short a very popular web series called Mortal Kombat: Legacy was born.

Now, two years after season one of the web series was released, a second season titled Mortal Kombat: Legacy II is near. An official release date for season two has been set and a new trailer is here as well, both of which can be found along with a description below.

Mortal Kombat

Tom Teller, a self-described “high school student with a passion for film,” creates videos based around video games and visual effects applied to real-life situations through his production shingle Intellergence. For his latest creation Teller ponders a question that must have been on all our minds at some point in time: what if while we’re out walking we’re suddenly thrown into the thick of battle with the supernaturally-powered fighters from the mega-popular Mortal Kombat video game franchise?
