God Hates Astronauts #5 is, hands down, the funniest issue of the series so far. And that’s saying something considering the previous four issues! You seriously have to see some of this stuff to believe it. Now, I’ve all ready spoiled the answer, but is this book worth picking up? Let’s dig a little deeper and find out.

I would hate to meet writer Ryan Browne‘s imagination in a dark alley. I’m pretty sure I would come out on the loosing end of that fight. I have NO idea where Browne comes up with not only these characters, but the story itself, and it’s in the story itself where you realize just how talented this guy is. You have a bunch of characters that don’t belong in the same universe IN the same universe, and as you read through the issue, you realize that where the story goes is very natural and organic yet chock-full of surprises, twists, and turns. And I haven’t even mentioned how laugh out loud FUNNY this book is. I lost count about halfway through the issue at how many times that I actually laughed out loud, and I can honestly tell you that I haven’t done that since I was a little kid reading Popeye comics. Again, anything that I could possibly write here would NOT do the comic justice; you have to read it for yourself.

Each and every week “Easy Peasy” MK2Fac3 and “Livin’ Greasy” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible… theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of April 18, 2012. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

Man, comics are pretty expensive, huh? I’m sitting here looking at my pull list this week, and I’m not seeing a lot of books that fall under the price of three dollars. See, while comics for the most part are less than a gallon of gasoline in some regions, others are more, which is just flat out insane. So, when we’re stuck in an economy such as this, with an unemployment rate as high as it, we need an escape. And if you’re reading this, I’m assuming that you’re escape is the same as ours, comic books. Comic books get a lot of flack for a lot of different reasons, but there’s something about even the super hero books that everyone complains about that offer something that no other form of entertainment offers. So, it’s with this idea that we present The GoD List, a list full of comics that we are looking forward to that should help you, if not solve these real-life situation, then at least provide away to temporarily relieve them by letting you know what’s worth your time and why.

Release Date: March 7, 2012
Cover Price: $3.50

“We’re protecting the country’s greatest secrets… The problem with these secrets is many of them are wrapped in conspiracy, and nothing tickles curiosity like mystery…” – General Groves, The Manhattan Projects #1

The idea of a book about an underground government agency that knows all of the world’s darkest secrets really intrigued me. I’ve always been a big fan of all the different UFO and government conspiracy stories and frankly still keep my eyes peeled for Big Foot anytime I’m anywhere near woods, so The Manhattan Projects #1 was seemingly written for me. Add to all that the fact that the great Jonathan Hickman is writing and it sounds like a recipe for success…

Each and every week “That KO Kid” MK2Fac3 and “Your Hero” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible… theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

Who’s my hero? Is is Chris? Is it Superman? Is it Batman? Is it Kassius? Oh no, it’s none of these. My hero is each and every creator that puts their lives on the line each month to provide each and every one of us with an awesome story so that we can escape from our mundane/great/terrible lives to visit a world that has been created by a writer and artist with a vision and desire to tell stories. I will be eternally thankful to each and every creator whether or not I’m their biggest fan. They have my undying respect. These creators are my heroes. Well, them and people that do really important things like protect freedom and save peoples’ lives and stuff. And Chris Hero. Anyway… The GoD List!

Each and every week “Henchman24” MK2Fac3 and “Dr. McDavid” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible… theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of December 14, 2011. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

The collective “HenchFac3” attempts to bring you the knowledge of the latest and greatest comic books that are being released each and every week. Now, unfortunately, the situation does not always play out in the manner in which we have anticipated. Sometimes, we pick absolute flops. Sometimes we pick books that don’t even ship that week. And sometimes, we pick the same comic every month. We’re not theoretical physicists, and as much as MK2Fac3 wants you to believe that he’s Batman, he’s totally not. He cannot prepare for any and all eventualities. But more often than not, we pick some really good books. And while our track record does not garner us a perfect score, I think that if you pick up this week’s books, you’ll be more than impressed with our choices. For we are “The HenchFac3,” and this, well this is The GoD List.
