The opening dream scene in the meadow gets me every time as Bella sees herself as old with Edward. I think it is a beautiful concept as Bella (Kristen Stewart) worries about aging while her true vampire love Edward (Robert Pattinson) stays forever young at seventeen, and will not turn her. It’s Bella’s birthday, and as much as she “doth” protests, everyone reminds her of the celebrating. She really doesn’t get Edward’s attitude, until her disastrous birthday party at the Cullens where she almost becomes dessert that Carlisle (Peter Facinelli) explains it all to her.

Blu-ray Review: PawnPawn
DVD | Blu-ray | Streaming
Directed by David A. Armstrong
Starring Ray Liotta, Nikki Reed, Forest Whitaker, Marton Csokas, Sean Faris, Michael Chiklis, Stephen Lang, Common, Max Beesley, Ronald Guttman
Anchor Bay Films
Originally Released: April 23, 2013

Pawn is one of those convoluted crime thrillers, told out of sequence, making up pieces to a puzzle that will cause you to keep guessing throughout the movie. Featuring Michael Chiklis and Ray Liotta among many other big names, and alongside a stellar performance by Sean Faris, this is one of those gangster/heist style mystery flicks that provides more questions than it does answers, though resonant of movies like Dog Day Afternoon.

Pawn is set in a small-town diner, which is taken over by three British gangsters planning a robbery of the location. The diner serves as a legitimate front for a big name in organized crime, and while the gangsters think they’re in the job for the money, their leader Derrick (Michael Chiklis) is after a very specific item: a hard drive with data that contains names of big players.

Breaking Dawn

If you’ve been following the progress of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn at all, you know it’s been long-expected and long-assumed that the final chapter to the film series would be split into two films.

The move was expected as it would be in an attempt to cover as much of the story’s details as possible and of course to pile as much cash into the bank as they possibly could before the franchise’s end.

In a press release put out by Summit Entertainment today, it was finally made official: Breaking Dawn will indeed be a two-part movie. The film will go into production some time this fall, and the first of these two movies will be released in November of 2011.

‘Twilight’ Holdouts Ashley Greene & Kellan Lutz Confirmed For ‘Breaking Dawn’

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Recently it was reported that because Summit Entertainment had not decided earlier that their final movie in the Twilight franchise, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, would be split into two movies and because their actors had become stars, talents like Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz were holding out in hopes of pulling in a much bigger payday (Read: Will ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ Re-Cast Cullen Kids Ashley Greene & Kellan Lutz?). It was also for this reason that the assumed-two-part film had not been made “official” yet, even though there was little doubt that all cast members would eventually rejoin the three main stars.

In a press release put out by Summit, the studio announced the return of the entire Cullen family, including Greene, Lutz, Peter Facinelli, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, and Elizabeth Reaser. The release pointed out that the actors have joined Billy Burke, who plays Charlie Swan. Three new posters were also released for the next film in the series, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, one of which can seen to the right.

Twilight
Directed by Catherine Hardwicke
Starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Cam Gigandet, Taylor Lautner
Rated PG-13
Release Date: November 21, 2008

Imagine leaving your sunny and lively hometown of Phoenix, Arizona, to go live in the cold, rainy and dull Forks, Washington. Imagine leaving your frantic mother, to go live with your relaxed father. These extreme changes are what Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) must endure in Catherine Hardwicke’s Twilight.

The movie opens up as Bella is leaving Phoenix, and adjusting to her new surroundings. She soon finds herself at school and is captivated by the presence of a group of stunning schoolmates, who are the “foster children” of Doctor Cullen (Peter Facinelli) and his wife. Bella is most interested in the charming Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), who appears to be hiding a secret. At first, Edward avoids Bella at all costs, until he saves her from an almost fatal car accident. This is the start of a new relationship between Edward and Bella, and she soon finds out that Edward, and the rest of his family, are vampires; but, contrary to stereotypical vampires that feed on humans, the Cullens have taken on a “vegetarian” diet, feeding on animals instead of humans. Edward also explains to her that he was avoiding her because he thirsted for her blood.
