Kit Harington

We’ve heard plenty about Pompeii, the latest movie from Event Horizon and Resident Evil director Paul W.S. Anderson. The movie tells the story of a slave sold off to a new owner who’s on a ship to Naples when Mount Vesuvius begins erupting, leading him to find his way back to the city of Pompeii to find his love and save his best friend before it’s too late.

The movie stars Kit Harington, who’s best known for his work as Jon Snow on the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, and now we have our first peek at Harington in the movie.

You can check out the image of Harington in Pompeii, complete with abs that would land him a sweet upper-level position among King Leonidas’s 300 Spartans, here below.

Kiefer Sutherland is in final negotiations to join the cast of Pompeii, the disaster flick being directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.

The movie is set in Pompeii in the year 79 A.D., when Mount Vesuvius erupted and coated the city and many of its people in fire and ash. It follows a slave who’s sold to another owner by his master, but has to rush back when the volcano erupts in an attempt to save his love—the daughter of his former master—and his best friend, a gladiator who’s stuck in the coliseum.

Lovers of Pompeii Image

Last May we found out that Resident Evil director Paul W.S. Anderson was going to make a disaster movie with a love story at its core, a la Titanic. But instead of on a boat, this love story is to unfold while Mt. Vesuvius erupts, raining down fire and ash and death on everything around it, including the ancient city of Pompeii, Italy.

The movie, which is titled Pompeii, has found its first star. It’s being reported that Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, who plays the bastard son of Lord Eddard Stark on the hit HBO series, Jon Snow, has entered into negotiations for the male lead.

Director Paul W.S. Anderson is a tricky gentleman to figure out. His resume includes movies like Event Horizon, Resident Evil, and Death Race — which aren’t exactly “good” but are considered by many to be a lot of fun — as well as movies like Mortal Kombat, Soldier, AVP: Aliens vs. Predators, and Resident Evil: Afterlife — all of which are pretty universally disliked.

As the director finishes up post production on his new movie, The Three Musketeers (which fittingly looks like it could either be a lot of fun or downright horrible), it’s now being reported that his next project will see him venturing to ancient Rome for Pompeii.
