Walker Stalker Con SOA-03

Walker Stalker Con 2017 at the New Jersey Expo and Convention Center had plenty for the fans of The Walking Dead to chew on. However, in addition to the zombie extravaganza, the convention brought together some of our SAMCRO faves – Ron Perlman (Clay), Tommy Flanagan (Chibbs), Mark Boone Junior (Bobby), Kim Coates (Tig), and Ryan Hurst (Opie) from the hit series Sons of Anarchy.

Warning! Spoilers below for Bates Motel!

Last week was the episode we’ve been waiting for since the beginning of Bates Motel. We finally got THE SHOWER SCENE! Except in a unique twist it’s not Marion Crane (Rihanna) who takes the wrath of Norman Bates, but rather Sam Loomis (Austin Nichols). Loomis had been the bane of Norman’s existence this season, cheating on lonely hardware store-owning wife Madeleine (Isabelle McNally) and using the motel for his lusty affairs with Marion, who innocently believed him to be planning a life with her. Freddie Highmore continues to be Emmy bait this season, his scenes with Rihanna in Room 1 are frantic and unnerving. We are watching his Norman Bates fully unravel and as he loses his grip, Norma (Vera Farmiga) tightens hers. Now accepting his mother dead, Norman is forced to accept he needs Norma with him, to help him do the things he can’t or won’t. But for now, they need to dispose of a body…

Warning! Spoilers below for the last 2 episodes of Bates Motel!

Approaching the series finale of A&E’s Bates Motel, we finally caught up to Alfred Hitchcock’s classic last week with the official introduction of Marion Crane (Rihanna). Unlike the original film, Sam Loomis (Austin Nichols) is already married and Marion is the unknowing other woman. Annoyed by a crap job with few prospects, she absconds with $400,000 and heads out from Seattle to White Pine Bay to be with her man. Except when Sam can’t sneak away from his actual wife Madeleine (Isabelle McNally), Marion is forced to take to refuge at… well, you guessed it. Norman (Freddie Highmore) is dealing with the possibilities of Romero (Nestor Carbonell) showing up at any second after escaping prison, and more importantly, he is struggling with the reality that Norma(n) has been taking over his body for longer periods of time. It’s the beginning of the end…

Spoilers below for this week’s Bates Motel:

Bates Motel 307 The Last Supper

Bates Motel may be over for the season, and we may have to wait til 2016 for season 4, but that doesn’t mean we cannot get our fix. The Psycho prequel tells the story of young Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore), that famous motel, and the family and friends surrounding him – mother Norma (Vera Farmiga), brother Dylan (Max Thieriot), close friend and motel employee Emma (Olivia Cooke), and Uncle Caleb (Kenny Johnson).

Geeks of Doom got the awesome chance to speak with Kenny Johnson, now that the crazy season has come to an end. Johnson is a TV veteran, best known for his years on The Shield, where he played Detective Curtis Lemansky for five seasons. Other notable work includes Dewey on Saving Grace, Kozik on SOA, a brief stint on Dexter, and actually, he is currently also on Chicago Fire as Tommy Welch. He can soon be seen in Solace, alongside Colin Farrell and Anthony Hopkins. I think this guy is a workaholic.

Before we get to the Bates Motel episode 5 review, let’s recap last week’s episode. Beware of spoilers!

“You betrayed mother. She needs to know,” Norman (Freddie Highmore) tells Dylan (Max Thieriot) after finding Caleb (Kenny Johnson) at his farm. Dylan had just finished patching Caleb up after a nasty fall and tearful confession filled with regret, when Norman showed up. Norma (Vera Farmiga) and the whole crew is in danger from the big players in town after Annika shows up, hands Norma a flash drive, and dies. Romero now has to investigate two dead girls who are connected to the Arcanum Club and that “missing” USB drive.

Written by Kerry Ehrin
Starring Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore, Max Theriot, Nestor Carbonell, Olivia Cooke, Kenny Johnson, Ryan Hurst

If you have not started season 3 of Bates Motel yet, do not go any further as there are some serious spoilers!

Last week on Bates Motel 3.1 “A Death in the Family,” the death in question was the death of Norma (Vera Farmiga) and Caleb’s (Kenny Johnson) mother, a mother Norma claims to care nothing for. Caleb tries to get closer to Dylan (Max Thieriot) now that the incestual secret is out in the open. Dylan just wants to open his medical marijuana farm. Here’s hoping he can stay legit. Norma and Norman (Freddie Highmore) are spooning. Gross! And after humiliating him by forcing him to go to school, Norma relents and lets her son stay at the house for homeschooling. A pretty girl Annika (Tracy Spiridakos) checks into the motel and gets driven out of sight by Norman after he asks Emma (Olivia Cooke) out on a date.

Bates Motel Season 3 Ryan Hurst as Chick Hogan

SAMCRO is reunited and it feels so good – to me! And sounds good for the other millions of Bates Motel and Sons of Anarchy fans. Ryan Hurst will be starting a six-episode arc starting this Monday in Bates Motel 3.2 “The Arcanum Club” as an illegal guns dealer, hiding behind a motorcycle shop (I know, I know – best thing ever), who gets tied up with Dylan (Max Thieriot) and Caleb (SOA’s Kenny Johnson).

Watch the videos and check out the two pics of Hurst from the episode here below.
