The first image from the upcoming supernatural thriller 7500 has found its way online by way of Entertainment Weekly.

The movie stars True Blood‘s Ryan Kwanten as a man who heads off to Tokyo, Japan with his wife (Amy Smart) despite their failing marriage because their best friends bought them the tickets as a gift. Little did they know that some sort of supernatural force begins overtaking the plane, and the passengers must decide whether to help each other or look out for themselves.

You can see the first image below.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment
Originally Released: December 02, 2011

Red Hill is easily one of the best movies I’ve ever seen on Netflix, and is an unexpected and understated title that grabs and keeps your attention from beginning to end. It is a solidly written and marvelously executed movie that is an exceptional viewing experience. This is a most definite “must see” movie, so when you add it to your Netflix queue, push it to the number one spot. You won’t regret it.

Being Australian, I have a tendency to keep an eye out for new Aussie flicks that pop up on Netflix Streaming. Director Patrick Hughes delivers a killer effort with Red Hill, and is perhaps one of the more concentrated offerings from the Australian film industry in recent years.

Griff the Invisible

Griff the Invisible
DIRECTOR: Leon Ford
STARRING: Ryan Kwanten, Maeve Dermody, Marshall Napier, Heather Mitchell, Toby Schmitz, Patrick Brammall, Anthony Phelan
Indomina Releasing
RELEASE DATE: August 19, 2011 (limited)

Most of us recognize Ryan Kwanten as Jason Stackhouse from the hit guilty pleasure–fest that is HBO’s True Blood. Some fans may know his voice from Zack Snyder’s Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole or smaller, more obscure fare like the forgettable Flicka and Dead Silence, or even more obscure TV titles like Summerland, or Home and Away and Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord in his native Australia. But again, most of us point to Mr. Stackhouse.

But Kwanten has also dabbled in the realms of indie films over the past couple of years, and his work there is not to be ignored. After seeing the 2010 western thriller, Red Hill, I was more than excited to take a peek at his other 2010 effort, Griff the Invisible, which is just now seeing a limited theatrical run.

One of the many TV shows that had a presence at the recent San Diego Comic–Con, was of course True Blood, the mega–hit HBO series set in a small Louisiana town and in a time where vampires and other creatures live among humans.

The show is currently making its way through season 4″”an admirable feat for any show””and the cast and crew were on–hand as usual talk shop for the Con faithfuls. With the show already going there wasn’t much new to show off, but many questions were still to be asked and answered.

The panel was introduced, with Kristen Bauer van Straten, Alexander Skarsgard, Kevin Alejandro, Nelsan Ellis, Deborah Ann Woll, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin, and showrunner/creator/writer/director/executive producer Alan Ball all coming to the stage.

Week of Geek: SDCC 2011 Coverage - San Diego Comic Con

SDCC 2011: Knights of Badassdom: Peter Dinklage

In case you missed the recently released trailer, Knights of Badassdom looks like it might just possibly become the greatest movie ever made.

It tells the story of two heavily involved LARPing (Live Action Role Playing) enthusiasts (played by Peter Dinklage and Steve Zahn) who bring their recently single friend (Ryan Kwanten) in to experience the joys of the LARP…which he doesn’t seem to be too big on. But when Zahn’s character accidentally summons a succubus and things become ooey–gooey evil, the LARPers must join forces with others like them and use their “skills” to defeat the beast.

Keep reading for more and to see some images from the Knights of Badassdom panel.
