Watch Now: An Inside Look At ‘Powers’: A PlayStation Original Series
|
|
PlayStation TV’s first original series, Powers, launches on March 10, and as we get closer to the premiere date, Sony has given us a look behind the scenes of the show. “An Inside Look at Powers: A PlayStation Original Series” runs over seven minutes long, and gives a lot of good background on the series that should get you pumped to watch.
Powers is based on the comics series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, and stars Sharlto Copley (District 9, Chappie) as Detective Christian Walker, a homicide detective who specializes in cases that deal with people with super powers. He is teamed up with a new partner named Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward — The Following, Poltergeist). The series also stars Eddie Izzard (The Riches, Hannibal), Michelle Forbes (Battlestar Galactica, True Blood), Noah Taylor (Almost Famous, Game of Thrones), Olesya Rulin (High School Musical, Greek), and Logan Browning (Bratz, Meet the Browns).
You can watch “An Inside Look at Powers” below and then watch the first episode when it starts on March 10, 2015 and is available exclusively on the PlayStation Network to PlayStation Plus subscribers.

We got our first look back in November at Chappie, the upcoming film from director Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium).
Now, a second trailer for the film has been released, which you can watch here below.
The new trailer see the roles of Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel, and Sigourney Weaver come into sharper focus and reveals more action than the more emotional spin of the first trailer. It also became more apparent to me that Chappie draws strongly on elements from two sci-fi classics, RoboCop and Short Circuit, which Blomkamp is weaving into a dystopian sci-fi take on Pinocchio.

Must Watch: First-Person Action Flick ‘Hardcore’ Preview Scene
|
|
It was only a matter of time before someone made a movie entirely in the same style as popular first-person shooter video games, such as the Call of Duty franchise. With Hardcore, that time has arrived.
The movie comes from director Ilya Naishuller, who made a short film/music video in the first-person style. That video has scored millions of views, and caught the attention of Wanted, Night Watch/Day Watch, and the upcoming Ben-Hur director Timur Bekmambetov who proposed producing a feature shot completely using the POV style. Fearing it was too “gimmicky” Naishuller declined Bekmambetov’s offer at first, but after a little convincing he changed his mind.
While it might be a bit of a gimmick and would grow old fast if done too often, there’s no denying that Hardcore looks like a hell of a lot of over-the-top fun. You can read more about the movie and check out a few videos below, including a preview of the movie, some awesome behind-the-scenes peeks, and the original music video that inspired Hardcore.
