Dying Light Gameplay

We’ve seen a pile of highly anticipated 2014 video games get pushed back to 2015, because they were announced far too early to help boost sales of the newest generation of consoles. One of these games was Dying Light, the upcoming first-person zombie game from Dead Island and Call of Juarez developer Techland, which was delayed back in May.

As it turns out, being announced too early wasn’t the only reason for the game’s delay. Developing it for both current and last-gen consoles was proving too tricky to figure out, and so it’s been decided to completely cancel both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game.

You can read the full announcement below.

The Elder Scrolls Online Header Image

If you were looking forward to finally playing The Elder Scrolls Online on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 when it was scheduled to be released next month, or of you were looking forward to the first-person zombie game Dying Light, there’s a bit of bad news.

In a statement released today, it has been revealed that the Elder Scrolls Online will not be up to the standards set by developer ZeniMax Online Studios and publisher Bethesda Softworks in time, and it could take up to six months to get the wrinkles ironed out. This is no big shock considering many big games get delayed in order to ensure the quality is there, and this particular game is extra large. Not to mention the fact that MMORPGs running on consoles is still a new thing being figured out.

But still, this is a big deal just a month before launch when many people have already pre-ordered their copy of the game. For this, a special offer has also been announced to try to make up for the inconvenience. You can read the full statement, including what the special offer is, below.

Dying Light Gameplay

You may have seen the first gameplay demo for the upcoming Techland and WB Games title Dying Light this past summer, and now comes a new lengthy peek at the game.

This new gameplay demo runs nine minutes, and again shows off the two very different sides of the game—the day time and the night. In the day time you’re still surrounded by the undead, and they can still be very dangerous to you if you get careless, but a mixture of combat options, traps, and the ability to free run around the open world from ground level to the rooftops gives you the edge in staying out of harm’s way. But when the sun fades, something changes in these beasties, and they become much more aggressive and much more deadly as they chase you to areas you didn’t think they could reach.

Continue below to read more about the game and to check out the new gameplay demo.
