Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege White Masks

Mr. Tom Clancy left us in 2013, but his name lives on. Ubisoft brought three different titles bearing the Clancy name to E3 2015: Tom Clancy’s The Division, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege.

Ubisoft brought a whole lot of the latter title to share with excited fans. First there was a stage presentation, which consisted of a trailer featuring a very realistic video game version of Angela Bassett (before Miss Bassett herself came out) and a live co-op mission. They also released some new trailers for the game, including the Bassett one which introduces a new threat known as the White Masks, a terrorist hunt co-op trailer, and a multiplayer trailer.

You can check out all of these Rainbow Six: Siege videos below.

E3 2015: ‘The Division’ Gets A New Gameplay Demo, Trailer

Tom Clancy's The Division

That’s right, Tom Clancy’s The Division is back at E3. The game was one of the best titles revealed at E3 2013, looking so insanely realistic that many had trouble believing it was possible. Unfortunately, after games like Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed Unity failed to live up to how great they looked, it seemed likely that this too would never be what we hoped it would be.

Even so, the game is still pushing forward, and a new gameplay demo showing off an area called the “Dark Zone” and trailer have been shared at E3 2015. Additionally, an actual release date for the game has been announced, believe it or not! Ubisoft has announced that the game will hit store shelves for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on March 8, 2016.

Click on over to the other side to see how The Division is looking these days.

Splinter Cell Image

Back in June, we found out that Ubisoft’s hit video game series, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, was being made into a movie. Most people tend to shrug off video games being turned into movies, as they tend to be on the not-so-enjoyable side of the line. But now comes word of a fast-rising superstar joining the cast.

Tom Hardy, who played Bane in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy-maker, The Dark Knight Rises, and also starred in films such as Inception and Lawless, has signed on for a role in the Splinter Cell movie. The script will be written by Eric Warren Singer (The International).

Kenneth Branagh Now Directing The Untitled Jack Ryan Reboot

Kenneth Branagh

Ever since scoring the biggest hit of his directing career with last summer’s thunderous Marvel Comics spectacular Thor, Kenneth Branagh has gone from being a prestigious filmmaker to an in-demand Hollywood talent. Despite having opted out of the Thor sequel (which is currently on its third attached director, Alan Taylor, and is set for release next year), the actor and director best known for his acclaimed film adaptations of Shakespeare works like Henry V and Hamlet (and for playing Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) has locked up another high-profile gig behind the camera.

Branagh has signed on to direct the still-untitled reboot of the Jack Ryan film franchise for Paramount Pictures, taking over for departing television director Jack Bender (Lost), whose most notable directing career was 1991’s Child’s Play 3. Chris Pine remains on board the project as the latest actor to portray Tom Clancy‘s heroic CIA agent and should be ready to begin filming once production on Star Trek 2 wraps. Jack Ryan has previously been portrayed on the screen by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Ben Affleck.

HAWX 2 is one of those games you have to be into to enjoy. The game isn’t really about the story, but flying these military aircrafts and fighting your way out of some pretty intense aerial battles. It would be hard for someone not interested in things such as this to enjoy themselves, but if you were ever a kid playing with your toy planes and pretending to be a top fighter pilot, this is a game that you could find yourself having a lot of fun with.

DVD Review: The Sum of All Fears

SOAFThe Sum of All Fears
Blu-Ray
Directed by Phil Alden
Starring Ben Affleck, Morgan Freeman, James Cromwell
Paramount Home Entertainment
Release Date: July 29, 2008

Perhaps the most telling line in The Sum of All Fears is spoken by Morgan Freeman as CIA Director Bill Cabot. The POTUS says they run nuclear fire drills against the Russians because who else has over 2,000 to worry about, to which Cabot says, “It’s the guy with one I’m worried about.”

It’s been years since I originally saw this film, and I have to say it was not as bad as I remember it being the first time.

The series took a bizarre turn on this one. Bonus feature commentary revealed that Harrison Ford was originally supposed to reprise the role of Jack Ryan for the third time, but ultimately decided against it before filming began. The role was recast with Ben Affleck, 30 years Ford’s junior, and the script was rewritten to have Ryan as a new recruit to the CIA instead holding a high office like in the novel. The story was altered significantly from the novel, effectively rebooting a series that did not need rebooting. However, it all went down with the approval of author Tom Clancy, who served as the film’s executive producer.
