Fast and Furious Hobbs and Shaw

It may be a bit strange that we aren’t getting a new Fast and Furious film in the near future. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t getting some kind of Fast and Furious film in the near future. The series is taking a bit of a detour from the main saga to give fans the franchise’s first ever spin-off. Hobbs and Shaw will reunite Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson for a new adrenaline rush with muscle tone actioner that will definitely be fast and furious.

Now the spinoff has just started its first day of production, and Johnson is commemorating the day with a brand new image of Statham and director David Leitch (Deadpool 2). Check it out here below.

Mission: Impossible - Fallout header image

Releasing the first trailer for a blockbuster film during the Super Bowl isn’t a completely new strategy. But it is one that will get the most eyes considering that it is one of the most watched games on the planet. And with companies spending up to $5 million for each commercial, you can bet that each studio is going to put their best – or at least blockbustery – film out there. And to get ahead of that, some, like Paramount, are releasing teaser posters to generate some interest.

The first poster for Mission: Impossible – Fallout has been released. The film is the sixth installment of the long-running franchise, which sees Tom Cruise reprising his role as Ethan Hunt once more. Check out the poster below.

The Dresser 10

The Dresser
Directed by Richard Eyre
Based on the stage play by Ronald Harwood
Starring Anthony Hopkins, Ian McKellen, Emily Watson, Sarah Lancashire, Edward Fox, Vanessa Kirby, Tom Brooke
Starz
Air Date: Monday, May 30th, 2016, 9:00pm

As the Nazis crash bombs down on England, an aging actor looks to enthrall audiences with an epic rendition of King Lear, one more time. The actor is unwell, having just checked himself out of a hospital, and it’s up to his dresser, Norman, to keep him upright and ready despite his wife’s objections and pleas to cancel the show. This is the plot description for The Dresser, based on Ronald Harwood’s play and the 1983 film of the same name, that garnered 5 Oscar nominations including Best Picture, Director, Actor (two), and Screenplay. The movie premieres tonight on Starz, a channel that is gaining a reputation for out of the box thinking. With several successful original series crossing many genres, Starz is building as a rival to pay-cable big boys HBO and Showtime. And in an era where every big movie at the theaters is a special effects comic book blockbuster, it’s refreshing to step back to a time where sets were built by human hands and not computer artists, and the stakes in a performance were truly high.

Spoilers for The Dresser below.
