Cathy Yan To Direct New Harley Quinn Movie Starring Margot Robbie

Wonder Woman marked a shift in the filmmaking dynamic. Not only was it the first female-superhero led film to be released in the new age of superhero films, it was also the first to be directed by a female filmmaker. Now the studio has found another female director to helm an untitled Harley Quinn movie, with Margot Robbie returning to reprise her role that she made famous in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad.
According to new reports, Cathy Yan is in talks to direct the Harley Quinn movie. While this may be one of many DCEU titles that has the character in it, it appears that there are plans to condense some of those into one film. More on the story below.

Movie Review: Ready Player One

Ready Player One
Director: Steven Spielberg
Screenwriter: Ernest Cline, Zak Penn
Cast: Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, T.J. Miller, Simon Pegg, Mark Rylance
Distributor: Warner Bros.
Release Date: March 29, 2018
Ready Player One is pure madness. Steven Spielberg‘s latest film is an unrelenting barrage of pop culture references that will leave you broken, battered, and barely alive. It may be narratively thin, but the visuals are just so beautiful you won’t even care what’s going on. And as crazy as it sounds, the film manages to have some nice layers to it.
There is also a great underlying message that almost gets lost in the chaos, but somehow, Spielberg is able to bring it all together and give us one spellbinding feature of nostalgia. Check out my full review of the film below.

Joker Origins Film To Pull From ‘Batman: The Killing Joke’

The history of the Joker is never told the same way, but there is one arc fans refer to as the definitive backstory for the Clown Prince of Crime, Batman: The Killing Joke. So it should come as no surprise that director Todd Philips would want to look at it for his Joker origins film.
A new report says Phillips will be drawing some inspiration from The Killing Joke, in which a failed comedian falls into a vat of acid bleaching his skin and warping his mind, for the still untitled Joker origins film. More on the story below.
