Trailer For Ron Howard’s ‘The Dilemma’ Starring Vince Vaughn & Kevin James Released

The first trailer for Ron Howard‘s new comedy, The Dilemma, has been released online.

The movie stars Vince Vaughn and Kevin James as best friends and colleagues, who seem to have everything going for them. They impressive some important people at work, they both have great girlfriends (Jennifer Connelly and Winona Ryder), and all seems perfect…that is until one of them spots his buddy’s lady-friend messing around with another guy. This puts him in the unfortunate position of having to choose between breaking the bad news and jeopardizing all that is going so well, or just letting it be what it is.

The Dilemma doesn’t really look like a Ron Howard movie; not until you spot Clint Howard, of course. But it does look like it could be a pretty funny buddy flick.

Be sure to head on over to the other side to read a full synopsis and check out the trailer for Ron Howard’s The Dilemma right now!

The film is a little difficult to wrap your brain around due to the fact that it’s about ballerinas, but of course, with Aronofsky involved it’s hard to deny your interest. And after you watch this trailer and see that there’s a whole hell of a lot more than ballet going on, you’ll be legitimately excited to see yourself some Black Swan.

If you haven’t come to terms with the fact that sequels and remakes are just a normal, everyday part of the Hollywood machine, then you better get used to it quickly. The sooner you do, the sooner you can enjoy the prospect of a movie like Beetlejuice II happening, instead of immediately scorning the very thought.

Before you starting heating up with rage, no, no there’s not a sequel to Tim Burton‘s fantastic 1988 horror-comedy on the way…yet. This is simply a hypothetical question ignited by some interesting quotes excavated by Moviehole over the past couple months.

It’s Huluween over at Hulu where you can watch a bunch of spooky movies for FREE, like Candyman, Fright Night, and Troll 2, as well as some TV shows perfect for Halloween time like Buffy The Vampire Slayer, its spinoff Angel, and The Crow: Stairway To Heaven.

Definitely check out the selection of videos, but before you go any further, I thought I’d bring your attention to another selection up for viewing right now: Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Now, about Dracula — I LOVE this movie. Why? Oh let’s see, because Gary Oldman IS Count Dracula and as you might not know, Gary Oldman rules! Released in 1992, the Francis Ford Coppola-directed film also starred Anthony Hopkins as Van Helsing and Tom Waits as Renfield. Sounds good, right?

Week of Geek: Star Trek banner

While touted as being “not your father’s Star Trek,” perhaps it was actually your mother’s, because this Mother’s Day weekend, JJ Abrams‘ prequel/reboot Star Trek reportedly earned $79.2 million at the domestic box office and has broken opening weekend IMAX records.

Paramount reports that due to strong attendance on Mother’s Day yesterday — which brought in $21 million — the film exceeded expectations by $3 million. The film went into early previews on Thursday night and played in 3,849 locations.

Meanwhile, 11% of the film’s total domestic gross came from its Star Trek: The IMAX Experience showings, which brought in $8.5 million from 138 IMAX screens. The limited IMAX run registered a per screen average of approximately $62,000 for the weekend, marking the highest grossing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday ever for an IMAX opening.

‘Star Trek’ Trailer and Footage Analysis
space

A few days ago, we posted about the new full-length trailer for Star Trek, the upcoming prequel from JJ Abrams. This trailer has become my new obsession and right after its release, I watched it 20 times, took 50 screenshots from the high-res version, and wrote nearly about 1,000 words worth of observations and queries.

While a lot of speculation has been given to the footage in this 2-plus minute trailer, we have to remember that there’s a lot more movie left to see and chances are what we’ve seen is far from the big picture. Don’t forget, we know that in the Academy, Cadet James T. Kirk took the Kobayashi Maru test three times, which means that anything we’re being shown now could be a part of that simulation test.

I watched the trailer many more times since its release, so I think I’m ready to finally talk about it at length. Also, several sites had the opportunity to watch four scenes from the film, so I was able to glean some facts about the trailer based on the footage they wrote about. Images throughout are screenshots I took from the high-res version of the trailer.
