‘Mass Effect 2’ Story Information Revealed
|
Firing Squad noticed an early description of the super-sequel that is sure to be Mass Effect 2 on Amazon; and with how messed up that first teaser we saw was (Read: What The Hell Just Happened? Mass Effect 2 Teaser Trailer Unveiled), how could you not be psyched for that, right? The description is overall, pretty bleak and depressing, so the game should be heavily packed with insanity.
Don’t get too excited, as there’s not worlds of information in the description, but every little bit is enough to get giddy about. If I’m even more curious now after reading this.
The second chapter in the Mass Effect trilogy takes you to the darkest reaches of space, where you must uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of humans across many worlds. Prepare yourself for a suicide mission to save mankind. Travel the galaxy to assemble a team of soldiers and combat specialists, and launch an all-out assault on the heart of enemy territory.

‘The Three Stooges’ Are: Jim Carrey, Benicio Del Toro, Sean Penn
|
We’ve been hearing about a potential The Three Stooges movie for some years now, with nothing ever really playing out. It looks like that’s about to change as casting has begun to move forward on the Peter and Bobby Farrelly project.
While all three of the above names aren’t etched in stone as of yet, they are the target three. Sean Penn is a definite for the role of Larry (and probably the most fitting, look-wise), and Jim Carrey is currently in negotiations for the role of Curly. Word is that Carrey is already making plans to gain 40 pounds for the chubby character, so that makes his participation seem a lot more likely. Benicio Del Toro isn’t in negotiations yet, but he’s been singled out as the choice for Moe for a while now, so that’s a wait-and-see.
The Farrelly brothers also wrote the script, which will be distributed by MGM. The plan is to begin filming this fall, with a release set for some time in 2010.

Ron Howard To Finally Bring A Little ‘Lovecraft’ To The Screen?
|
It’s being reported that former geek, present directing god — Ron Howard may be finally bringing H.P. Lovecraft to the big screen; though it won’t be quite how we expected to first see the master horror writer appear in film. Howard would be making the movie based on the Image Comics’ graphic novel, The Strange Adventures of H.P. Lovecraft.
Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment purchased the rights to the graphic novel — which doesn’t even get released until April 8, 2009 — with the hopes that it would become a possible project for Ron Howard. No word on if he’ll actually take the job or not, but we can hope.
Strange Adventures is a sort of hybrid of Lovecraft’s life and his works — a type of fictional biopic-style fantasy horror! Basically, the book tells the tale of Lovecraft and his family’s real struggles with sickness and his own battles with his writing until one day he becomes cursed by a book, which turns his most evil thoughts and nightmares into reality.

New ‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ Information: The Re-invention Of Freddy Krueger?
Now that the dust has settled from the return of Jason Voorhees in the Platinum Dunes reboot of Friday the 13th, a new storm is brewing with next horror reboot — A Nightmare on Elm Street. The movie isn’t being released until April of next year, but rumors have already lit up the ‘Net on multiple occasions. Thankfully, Latino Review was able to grab a copy of the script and finally give us a little insight into what to expect. Head over to their site to hear the complete review!
The one big noticeable difference in these two reboots, was that with Friday the 13th, you only needed to find a guy with the right look to fill the shoes of Jason — but when it comes to Freddy Krueger, you had an impossible personality to replace. This is something that I once thought would be a killer blow to the new venture, but with this information we now have, I’m starting retract my steps.
