Willow and Elora Danan Together Again?
Empress Eve   |

Willow and Elora Danan

There’s an image on Buzzfeed titled “Willow And Elora Danan, 24 Years Later” with no image credit or caption. The man in the photo is actor Warwick Davis, who played the title role in the 1988 fantasy film Willow; the image title insinuates that the woman in the photo is the actress who played the baby Elora Danan in the film over two decades ago.

In Willow, the role of Elora Danan was actually played by infant twin girls, Ruth and Kate Greenfield, but there’s no mention as to which of the sisters is in this new photo.

I’d love to know where this photo was taken, and how Davis was reunited with his old co-star. If you’ve seen Willow, then you know that Elora Danan was one of the cutest babies on film and that Willow spends the majority of the time with the precious infant, whose prophesied destiny he must protect.

This image makes me want to go back right now and rewatch the film, which was directed by Ron Howard and produced by George Lucas.

Warwick Davis posted the story on his website in 2007. Old news.

Davis says that girl’s name is Laura Hopkirk, not Ruth or Kate Greenfield. I wonder if she’s just a poser? I don’t see her name in the credits on IMDB.

I think she must have played the newborn Elora cared for by the midwife, rather than the older baby we see with Willow, because it is definitely Kate/Ruth Greenfield who played the older baby.

I saw the twins and they don’t look like Elora at all… I thought this girl could be the one… but you’re right, her name is not in the credits.

Actually multiple babies played Elora through the filming of the Movie. There were the Greenfield twins, and Rebecca Bearman, who was niece to the second director… in addition to a few animatronic babies for the more dangerous scenes.
