We’ve all seen the skull that’s often used in posters and promos for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, but if you missed it the first time, there’s some sneaky changes for the latest installment in the franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
As you can see in the image above, the new skull is noticeably different with a nice chrome finish to it for some reason or another, but what other secrets and special additions does it hold?
Click on over to the other side now to find out and see a gigantic poster where you can see these hidden treasures close up, including a famed Disney character who’s hiding better than Waldo ever did.
Of the most obvious changes, apart from the strangely metallic shine, you might have noticed the small white pearl lodged deeply into one of the skull’s many golden teeth. Another subtle yet clear Easter egg of sorts is the tiny “X” etched into the right cheekbone (your left); likely “marks the spot” of the Fountain of Youth.
From there some other things to note are the new beads, the skeletons hanging from the bottom of a dreadlock, blonde streaks of hair sticking out, and mermaids swimming on the hand guard of the right sword. The two swords are different and we know mermaids come into play in the movie, so there’s surely something behind this.
Unfortunately we do not yet know what the meaning of some of these is, but they are still fun nevertheless.
But perhaps the most enjoyable of all these fun little hidden gems is the inclusion of a certain Walt Disney icon. That’s right, if you look very closely, you can find Mr. Mickey Mouse at the very top of the dreadlock with the dangling skeletons.
Check them all out right here in the massive poster. You can scan every inch of the skull when you zoom in on this bad boy, so make sure you’re not on a slow computer!
