Clearly there is a call for Harrison Ford to reprise his character in Ridley Scott’s planned sequel for Blade Runner. But Alcon Entertainment, the studio behind the film, continues to deny that there are any talks happening that would include the actor’s presence in the movie. Scott, however, continues to say that there is a possibility that we could see Ford come back.
But a recent interview with The Independent confirms that no talks have happened, but that isn’t stopping Scott from voicing his request to see Harry in the Blade Runner sequel.
Here’s the quote:
“I don’t think it’ll be Harry [starring],” Scott told the newspaper. “But I’ve got to have him in it somewhere. That’d be amusing.”
So while it isn’t the confirmation that everyone is hoping for, it does express the sentiment that Scott wants Ford to come back and make an appearance in the movie. But with the Blade Runner sequel still in the very early stages of the pre-production process, its hard to tell how Harry will be used in the film.
What we do know is that Scott is expected to jump onto the Blade Runner sequel once he completes his work on The Counselor.
