DreamWorks Animation Slate For The Next Four Years

eelyajekiM   |

DreamWorks Animation

Rise of the Guardians will be one of Paramount and DreamWorks Animation’s last projects together. Recently, Paramount let their deal with DA expire and moved forward with its own animation studio venture, which left the acclaimed animation studio partnering up with 20th Century Fox for an all new distribution deal. Now we are getting a look at the DreamWorks Animation line up for the next four years.

DreamWorks Animation slate includes a great mix of sequels, spin offs, and original titles. Anticipated titles like How to Train Your Dragon 2, Kung Fu Panda 3, and The Penguins of Madagascar are just some of the well known titles being released in the next four years, Mr. Peabody and Herman, The Croods, Turbo, and Me and My Shadow are also just some of the original titles also expect to hit between now and the next four years.

Here is an excerpt from the press release that hit the newswire earlier today:

The following DreamWorks Animation films will be distributed by Fox: The Croods for March 22, 2013, Turbo for July 19, 2013 and Mr. Peabody & Sherman for November 1, 2013; Me and My Shadow for March 14, 2014, How to Train Your Dragon 2 for June 20, 2014 and Happy Smekday! for November 26, 2014; The Penguins of Madagascar for March 27, 2015, Trolls (working title) for June 5, 2015, B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations for November 6, 2015 and Mumbai Musical (working title) for December 19, 2015; Kung Fu Panda 3 for March 18, 2016 and How to Train Your Dragon 3 for June 18, 2016.

For those that don’t known, Turbo will be a film centered on a snail determined to win the Indy 500. The voice cast includes Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Michael Pena, Luis Guzmán, Bill Hader, Richard Jenkins, Ken Jeong, Michelle Rodriguez, Maya Rudolph, Ben Schwartz, Kurtwood Smith, Snoop Lion, and Samuel L. Jackson. Turbo will be directed by David Soren.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman is an adaptation of the popular cartoon Mr. Peabody, the world’s smartest person who happens to be a dog. When his “pet” boy Sherman uses their time traveling WABAC machine without permission, events in history spiral out of control to disastrous and comical results. Directed by Rob Minkof, Mr. Peabody and Sherman will be voiced by Ty Burrell, Max Charles, Stephen Colbert, Allison Janney, Ariel Winter, and Stephen Tobolowsky.

The Croods will follow a prehistoric family forced to look for a new home. During their journey they must find out how to survive ferocious beasts and each other. Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicco direct and Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke, and Cloris Leachman provide the vocal talent.

There is a lot to be excited for and you can be sure that we will be covering all of it when more news relating to these titles come up. So which DA titles are you looking forward to the most?
