Warner Bros. has released a brand new trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, part one of Bilbo’s journey towards Middle Earth. While there are still those who are hesitant about the decision to change The Hobbit from a two-part film to a trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey looks like it will have plenty of action, adventure, and comedy.
Check out the full trailer here below.
While the previously released teaser trailer established who the characters are, this new trailer focuses on the plot of the film. The dwarves are set out to reclaim the land that is rightfully theirs, and Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen) believes that they can accomplish that if they bring the hobbit Bilbo Baggins along on this adventure.
The tone of this trailer is also much different from its darker and more somber predecessor. Watching the kinds of mischief that these dwarves get into reveals that the film will have its comedic moments.
Obviously the fate of Middle Earth isn’t in the hands of one little hobbit, and the trailer reveals that the plot may be too small for a full-scale trilogy. But Jackson is continuing to give us reasons to return to this wonderful and mystic world called Middle Earth. If you are also looking to whet that Hobbit appetite some more, then head over to the official website to see four additional endings to this trailer.
The film also stars James Nesbitt, Stephen Hunter, Mark Hadlow, Graham McTavish, Dean Ogorman, Peter Hambleton, Aidan Turner, Jed Brophy, John Callen, Adam Brown, Ken Stott, William Kircher, Andy Serkis, and Richard Armitage. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opens in 3D on December 14, 2012.
