Last week, Disney and LucasFilm made a huge Star Wars: Episode VII casting announcement by revealing a photo of the principal cast, which included Star Wars veterans Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher. Seen in the same photo, will be new faces to the franchise: John Boyega, (Attack the Block, 24: Live Another Day), Adam Driver (Girls) Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit), Domhnall Gleeson (Harry Potter, Dredd), and two-time Academy Award nominee Max von Sydow (The Exorcist, Minority Report), and newcomer Daisy Ridley. There are reports that there are still a few more female roles that will be added to give the cast more diversity.
Now, there is a title rumor swirling on the net, just months before it is officially speculated to be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con.
Hit the jump to learn more.
According to Harry Knowles at Ain’t It Cool News, the title is The Ancient Fear.
Sources close to AICN suggest that the title “refers to Max Von Sydow’s villain who makes Pazuzu look like a pussy!” Well, if they describe Von Sydow’s character in that way, then the Star Wars: Episode VII must be good.
However, let’s just take this news with less than a grain of salt. It is, after all, just a rumor that is flying around, so don’t let your blood boil too much if you don’t like The Ancient Fear as a title, because it may not be sticking around for very long.
Directed by J.J. Abrams, using a script written by Lawrence Kasdan, Star Wars: Episode VII opens December 18, 2015
