Video: ‘Blair Witch’-Style ‘Friday The 13th’ Found Footage Fan Film
The Movie God   |  @   |

Friday the 13th Found Footage Short

A Friday the 13th: The Game is on the way, but the next movie in the long-running Friday the 13th horror franchise has had trouble finding a path to existence. The last movie in the franchise was the 2009 reboot, and various possibilities have surfaced since then in search of the next Jason Voorhees story to tell.

These have included Friday the 13th in a wintry setting, applying the popular (with some folks) found footage format, and doing another movie with no Jason at all. But ultimately, none of these have worked out. And probably for the best, as over-thinking a franchise such as this can be dangerous.

While we await the next movie in the franchise, a fan has created a Blair Witch Project-style Friday the 13th short film to show us what a found footage movie might have looked like. And though found footage may not be so appealing for a feature, a fan-made short like this is fun enough to pass a little time. You can check out the short below.

The Movie God   |  @   |

Rick and Morty McDonald's Szechuan Sauce

After recovering from the excitement of that amazing surprise first episode of Rick and Morty season three, attention was turned to trying to convince McDonald’s to bring back the Szechuan sauce featured in the episode the fast food chain offered back in 1998 when Disney released the animated movie Mulan.

While we wait to see if the sauce comes back, YouTube series “Binging with Babish” is here to offer some ways to create your own Szechuan sauce at home. You can check out the video below.

Game of Thrones: Ned Stark and Ice

About this time of year we’re all usually getting into the new season of HBO’s Game of Thrones. But this year, as the final seasons of the show approach, things have changed a bit and we have to wait a little longer. An official premiere date for season seven was revealed recently with ice and fire.

To help pass the time until that long-awaited next season arrives, the AWE me YouTube channel series Man at Arms recently created a replica of Ned Stark’s legendary blade, named Ice.

You can watch the nearly 20-minute video of the forging of the massive blade below.

Avengers: Age of Ultron cast photo

Trailer reactions are much a part of social media as some become a viral sensation in an instant. Same goes for mashups videos. But when it comes to two superhero powerhouses like DC and Marvel, you can be sure that they will be keeping each other on their toes for the foreseeable future.

That’s where the latest trailer reaction mashup comes in. In it, we see how the Marvel’s Avengers would react after they’ve just watched the new Justice League trailer, which isn’t half bad. And it looks like the Marvel superheroes would agree. Check out the video here below.

A Look At The Incredible Practical Effects Of The ‘Ghost In The Shell’ Movie (Video)
The Movie God   |  @   |

Weta Workshop's Ghost in the Shell Robot Geisha

A live-action movie adaptation of Ghost in the Shell is on the way, as you may have heard, and excitement levels vary from person to person after the controversial casting of Scarlett Johansson in the lead role.

But anyone who’s a fan of movies—no matter what their thoughts on this movie happen to be—appreciates the use of practical effects, and Ghost in the Shell has some incredible ones. Mythbusters star Adam Savage and his Tested YouTube channel paid a visit to the special effects masters over at Weta Workshop recently, where he was shown some of the work they created for Ghost in the Shell. More specifically, the robot geisha. A great deal of work went into creating them, and there’s a phenomenal amount of detail to appreciate. This video alone doubles my interest in the movie simply knowing they went this route over digital effects when possible.

You can see what Weta built in the video below.

Watch Jimmy Kimmel’s Mean Tweets – Robert DeNiro Edition (Seriously NSFW)

Jimmy Kimmel Mean Tweets Robert Deniro

I love Mean Tweets. Jimmy Kimmel‘s bit that has famous people reading the horrible things people say about them on Twitter and their reaction to them, are genius. But I have never laughed so much as I have with this one. In this very special episode of Mean Tweets, Robert DeNiro reads the ones especially dedicated to him. His reaction?

New ‘Rick and Morty’ Song Released While We Wait For Season 3
The Movie God   |  @   |

Rick and Morty

We’re still awaiting word on when we might get to see season three of Adult Swim’s animated comedy Rick and Morty. And that’s fine. As I’ve said in the past, I can be patient for a show like this. I’d much rather it take an unbearably long time for a new season to arrive and have it be as brilliant as the first two seasons were, than have a mediocre show with a few good episodes already four or five seasons in.

While we pace around, ignoring all life responsibilities until we know for sure when Rick and Morty is returning, a new video has been released sharing a previously unheard song. You can check it out below.

Video: Josh Gad Recruits An All-Star Cast To Pry ‘Star Wars’ Spoilers From Daisy Ridley
eelyajekiM   |  @   |

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

It appears that Josh Gad persistently trying to pry Star Wars: The Last Jedi spoilers from Daisy Ridley will be an ongoing thing. For the first and second videos, it’s just been him trying to get answers to his questions. When that was going nowhere, he enlisted the help of his Murder on the Orient Express co-star Dame Judi Dench. The video seemed to have the answers to his questions, but it cut off at the right moment.

Obviously we aren’t getting anywhere with Gad leading the questioning, so he’s recruited some extra help. Let’s just say there is a bit of a crossover going on with stars and filmmakers from Murder on the Orient Express, Jurassic World, The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Hamilton, and even Star Wars: The Force Awakens questioning her. And no, I’m not talking about Daisy Ridley, herself. Check out who else wants to know more about Star Wars: The Last Jedi in the video below.
