‘Justice League’ Teaser Spotlights Jason Momoa’s Aquaman; Full Trailer Coming Soon
eelyajekiM   |

Justice League Aquaman Jason Momoa

For some DCEU fans, it has been a long frustrating eight months since the release of the first Justice League trailer which dropped during SDCC last Summer. Since then, Warner Bros. has released Suicide Squad and dealt with a myriad of bad publicity surrounding The Flash, The Batman, and the entire DCEU as a whole. Despite what has been said about Wonder Woman, the first female-led superhero tentpole looks very promising, and Matt Reeves will be directing The Batman – a film which star Ben Affleck looked like he had no interest in directing in the first place. They are even courting Matthew Vaughn to direct Man of Steel 2 or an untitled DCEU film.

Now Warner Bros has announced that they will soon be releasing a new trailer for Justice League, and judging by how it is focused on Aquaman (Jason Momoa), we might be getting a lot more of them. Check out the teaser for the trailer here below, along with the newly released teaser poster.

David Goyer Could Direct ‘Suicide Squad 2’ Or ‘Green Lantern Corps’

Green Lantern Corps header

Like Marvel Studios, Warner Bros would like to release at least two superhero films a year. Last year, the studio released Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. This year they will be releasing Wonder Woman and Justice League. Next year puts that plan in jeopardy as they only have Aquaman scheduled for release. However, they clearly want to put one of five films into production, so they can keep releasing two a year. While we still don’t know if the film is going to be The Flash, Suicide Squad 2, Dark Universe, Gotham City Sirens, or Green Lantern Corps, there is a rumor that WB wants David Goyer to be the director of one of them.

More on the story below.

A clash between two comic book movies wasn’t a matter of if but when. Now that Avatar 2 has been pushed back, studios have set their eyes on the winter holiday release.

And for Sony and Warner Bros. they have decided to mark their calendars to release their respective films — the untitled animated Spider-Man movie and Aquaman — on December 21, 2018. That means, we are getting our first Marvel vs DC showdown at the theaters. More on the story below.

‘Suicide Squad 2’ Gets ‘The Legend Of Tarzan’ Writer To Pen Script

Suicide Squad Cast Photo

Yes, Suicide Squad was one of the most polarizing films of 2016, but its box office success was enough to warrant the obvious sequel. But with writer and director David Ayer moving on to helm Gotham City Sirens, Suicide Squad 2 is in need of a writer and director.

There is a rumor that the studio is eyeing Mel Gibson to direct, though we have yet to hear about it from either party. However, there is confirmation that The Legend of Tarzan scribe Adam Cozad is in talks to pen the script. Yeah, the sequel doesn’t sound promising, at all. More on the story below.

‘The Batman’ Script Getting Complete Overhaul; Won’t Start Shooting Until 2018

Batman v Superman Ben Affleck Bat Signal

The Batman has been in a production stall ever since the title was announced. Despite having then-director Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns writing the script with Chris Terrio doing the rewrites, and Affleck bowing out as director only to have Matt Reeves take his place, the film has yet to shoot a single scene. While the box office speaks for itself, critics have not been kind to the DCEU films, and things can only get worse with more behind-the-scenes troubles affecting the overall morale.

Now, it is being confirmed that Reeves’ current obligation to War for the Planet of the Apes is forcing the production of The Batman to be pushed back. Also, the script is being rewritten from scratch. More on the story below.

WB Eyeing ‘Kingsman’s Matthew Vaughn To Direct ‘Man Of Steel 2’

David Goyer Addresses Controversial Man Of Steel Ending

It was just a few years ago that director Zack Snyder declared Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice a sequel to Man Of Steel. It may very well be, depending on how you look at it. But that hasn’t stopped the studio from actively looking into developing a direct sequel to the 2013 film. Snyder seems to be heading towards a break after Justice League, leaving the director’s chair vacant. There have been some rumblings that George Miller could step into Snyder’s place, given that his Mad Max: Fury Road was a critical and commercial hit. But that never came to fruition. However, it seems that the studio has their eyes set on a new director.

According to a new report, WB is eyeing X-Men: First Class and Kingsman: The Secret Service director Matthew Vaughn to helm Man Of Steel 2.

More on the story below.

Ben Affleck as Batman in Justice League

It seems like we’ve been going through a carousel of yes and no’s when it comes to whether or not Matt Reeves will direct The Batman. Following word that talks broke down last weekend, now there is official confirmation that Reeves will helm the film after title star Ben Affleck felt he was not up to the task. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Image 06

Things aren’t looking too good for the DCEU. In just the past few weeks, Ben Affleck took himself out as director of The Batman. The film reportedly went through a script overhaul – despite contrary reports that the studio was happy with Chris Terrio‘s rewrites to Affleck and Geoff Johns’ script. Then there was the rumor that Affleck did not want to play Batman anymore. And now, after Matt Reeves entered talks with the hopes that he would direct, word is coming out that talks have broken down and he is no longer in consideration. More on the story below.

Laurence Fishburne Won’t Be Appearing In ‘Justice League’
eelyajekiM   |

Laurence Fishburne as Perry White in Batman v Superman

Normally an ensemble superhero movie is the culmination of all the major characters’ stories that have appeared throughout the cinematic universe. Obviously the bigger superheroes will make it in, but some supporting characters make their way in as well. But one of the characters that won’t be appearing in Justice League, despite being in two DCEU films, is Perry White, confirmed by the actor who plays him, Laurence Fishburne.

The actor also confirmed a few things about the rivalry between DCEU and Marvel. Check out what he had to say below.

Rumor: Ben Affleck Doesn’t Want To Be The Batman Anymore
eelyajekiM   |

Ben Affleck as Batman

Before we get into this, let’s just start by saying that this is just a rumor.

There is no confirmation yet. But there is a rumor, and I emphasize the word rumor, that Ben Affleck doesn’t want to be Batman anymore. The actor has played the Dark Knight twice already, with his third being in the upcoming Justice League. He was poised to direct the hero’s standalone feature The Batman with a script he had written with Geoff Johns. However, he suddenly dropped out, forcing Warner Bros. to enter talks with Matt Reeves to take his place. More on the story below.
