Greetings, and Happy Star Wars Day to you all.

Over the years, “May the 4th” has taken on a life of its own. What began as a pun on the famous Star Wars quote “May The Force be with you,” has now become a global holiday that has spilled over into non-geek sectors. Every major retailer is offering deals in honor of this observance, and even people who aren’t mega-fans of the franchise were on social media bright and early this morning to wish others a “Happy Star Wars Day.”

The teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is one of the most-talked-about trailers in history. Fans are dissecting every second of the footage shown, hoping to decipher any drop information on secretive director J.J. Abrams’ upcoming sequel.

The trailer left plenty for everyone to talk about, including the reveal of a new lightsaber being ignited by the Sith Kylo Ren. Unlike the original trilogy, which featured a standard saber, and the prequels, which had Sith apprentice Darth Maul wielding a double-edged lightsaber, the new film will debut a new crossguard lightsaber that has a broadsword-type of design. But what is the purpose and functionality of the crossguard component?

The Stunt People created a short first-person perspective video on a GoPro camera in which you start as Vader himself fighting a Jedi, and then eventually transition over to the Jedi’s perspective. The results are pretty awesome…if you can get past this all going down in what appears to be an office building or something. They pulled it off in a half hour, what do you want?!

Back in August, YouTube user FinalCutKing released a video called Jedi Kittens, a very short clip of two wonderfully adorable kittens having themselves a lightsaber fight.

That video was only a brief 16 seconds long, but the kitties have returned in a much longer sequel titled Jedi Kittens Strike Back, which sees them having a good ol’ Star Wars dogfight before both of their ships go down and the ‘sabers come out yet again!
