Co-Op Fantasy RPG ‘Scalebound’ Canceled By Microsoft

PlatinumGames' Scalebound

A new co-op fantasy RPG from developer PlatinumGames and publisher Microsoft Studios was announced at E3 2014 titled Scalebound. The game was to offer co-op gameplay, with each player getting their own dragon companion to help in battles. This, as you might imagine, had gamers quite excited. Excitement only grew with the release of gameplay videos showing some epic battles you and your dragon would take part in.

But in a surprising turn of events, it has now been announced that Microsoft has decided to cancel the game. It joins other titles canceled by Microsoft such as Fable Legends, Halo Online, and Project Spark.

E3 2016: Pirate Game ‘Sea Of Thieves’ Trailer & Gameplay

Sea of Thieves

A new trailer has been released for Sea of Thieves, the upcoming first-person adventure game from Donkey Kong Country, GoldenEye 007, and Perfect Dark Zero developer Rare that allows you and your friends to become pirates. It’s basically a childhood fantasy brought to life.

In addition to the trailer the developer also had some fans play the game for the first time and recorded the results to share with the masses, so the first gameplay footage has also been released.

E3 2016: Microsoft Announces Powerful New Console “Project Scorpio”

Project Scorpio

To kick off their E3 2016 briefing, Microsoft announced a new slim model of the Xbox One called the Xbox One S. New console offering announcements were expected leading up to E3, so this was no big shock, but it was not the mysterious “Project Scorpio” that had been rumored. No, Microsoft saved that one for last.

To close out their presentation, Microsoft shared a video for Scorpio, which they believe will be the most powerful console ever created when it is released during the 2017 holiday season. The big question is, is this a good thing…or is it a very bad thing?

E3 2016: Xbox Announces $300 Slim Model, Play Anywhere

Microsoft Xbox One S Slim Model

There’s been a lot of whispers going around lately that Microsoft and Sony would be announcing new versions of their Xbox One and PS4 consoles. To kick off their E3 2016 briefing Microsoft confirmed their new console, the Xbox One S slim model. The new console will be available in 500 GB, 1TB, and a limited edition 2TB model, with the 500GB model costing as much as the current One was just lowered to: $299.

Microsoft also announced Play Anywhere, which allows anyone who buys a game digitally to play on either their One or Windows 10 PC, with all saved progress and achievements saved to their Live account, and cross-play for players on both platforms.
