Honest Trailer – Mad Max: Fury Road
Dr. Zaius   |

Honest Trailer Mad Max Fury Road

The Mad Max franchise is very strange. The first one, with Mel Gibson was nothing like you thought it was, a slow family movie that morphs into a revenge thriller in the last act. Then came Road Warrior, and the bar was set for kick ass action movies. Now George Miller; whose IMDB resume is probably the most bizarre in history (featuring the Mad Max films, Happy Feet and Babe: Pig in the City), returns with Mad Max: Fury Road, the best big budget action film in recent memory. Narrator Jon Bailey immediately picks on all the CGI action franchises in this Honest Trailer, including Jurassic Park, Terminator, and Avengers, and revels in the glory of the practical effects of Fury Road. That and the fact that Mad Max is actually the least important character in the movie!

Watch the Honest Trailer below.

Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse

Once in a while the zombie apocalypse gets a comedic twist (Shaun of the Dead), which is something a bit refreshing considering the genre’s subject matter (a group of survivors forced to work together against a hoard of zombies). Paramount has just released the first trailer for Christopher Landon‘s Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse, starring Tye Sheridan (The Tree of Life, X-Men: Apocalypse), David Koechner (Anchorman, Piranha 3DD), Logan Miller (Night Moves, The Stanford Prison Experiment), Halston Sage (Neighbors, Paper Towns), Joey Morgan, Patrick Schwarzenegger (Grown Ups 2, Dear Eleanor), and Cloris Leachman (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Young Frankenstein).

‘The Witch’ Trailer: A Dark New England Folktale Horror
The Movie God   |

The Witch Movie Header

A trailer has been released for a new horror film titled The Witch, and it looks like the type of movie that could potentially latch itself onto your brain for a while after seeing it.

The movie is described as a New England folktale, but sadly that’s the only thing we have to go on at the moment apart from the trailer itself. It’s directed by Robert Eggers, his feature directorial debut (he’s also set to direct a remake of Nosferatu), and stars Ralph Ineson and Kate Dickie, who played Dagmer Cleftjaw and Lysa Arryn on HBO’s Game of Thrones, as well as Anya Taylor-Joy, Harvey Scrimshaw, Lucas Dawson, Ellie Grainger, and Julian Richlings.

You can watch the trailer for The Witch and also see a poster for the movie below.

Announcement Trailer For 1950s-Set Game ‘Affliction’
The Movie God   |

Affliction Game

An announcement trailer has been released for an upcoming game titled Affliction from Mastermind Games. The game is described as an “open world narrative, action adventure game where you solve the mystery of a small 1950s town.” As a total sucker for games set in past time periods, that’s pretty much all I need to be won over. If you’re a bit harder to win over, however, there’s plenty more to take in.

Some gamers consider what’s known as “walking simulators”—narrative-driven games that focus on exploring the game world and piecing together the story, as opposed to more involved combat-heavy gameplay for example—to be too boring. I personally enjoy these types of games, so long as the world and story maintain my attention; but for those of you who need more engaging action, Affliction aims to find that sweet spot.

You can watch the trailer and read much more about the game and its story below.

‘The Martian’ Trailer: “There Must Be Some Kind Of Way Out Of Here”
eelyajekiM   |

Matt Damon in The Martian

Fox has released the second trailer for Ridley Scott‘s The Martian, starring Matt Damon as an astronaut stranded on the planet Mars after he was thought to be dead. Drew Goddard wrote the script, which is based on Andy Weir’s novel of the same name. The new trailer provides us with all sorts of brand new footage with gives us more context as to how he does the impossible, use the very limited resources and science he has to create sustenance. But it will all be pointless if he doesn’t find a way to make contact with NASA, for which he also has limited resources. Even though he is millions of miles away and four years from Earth receiving his message, he does make contact. However, the surviving crew must decided whether to go back home as NASA ordered or mutiny and go on what could be a suicidal rescue mission.

Check out the newest trailer for The Martian here below.
