Late Shift

Late Shift
AVAILABLE ON: Xbox One, PS4, PC, Mac
DEVELOPER: CtrlMovie
PUBLISHER: Wales Interactive
RELEASE DATE: April 18, 2017

Another fully live-action video game/interactive story, Late Shift is a crime thriller in which your choices determine how the story will play out.

The story opens with a student named Matt (Joe Sowerbutts) heading to his night job as a security guard. While on the job, a boring evening quickly takes a drastic turn when he finds himself being kidnapped at gunpoint and being forced to fill in on a heist. That’s where the roller coaster ride begins, and it’s up to you to decide how it all plays out. Will you jump on opportunities to try to escape or foil the criminals’ plans; do you play along as best you can for fear of your own well-being; or do you, with a promise of a cut of the prize, take a detour from your boring day-to-day existence and live a little dangerously.

First Trailer For ‘Star Wars Battlefront II’ Is Here
The Movie God   |  @   |

Star Wars Battlefront II Trailer

During the ongoing Star Wars Celebration convention today, the first trailer for developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts’ first-person shooter sequel Star Wars Battlefront II was unveiled.

The first game looked and felt about as Star Wars as any fan could have hoped, a remarkable technical accomplishment. But the game as a whole, especially considering they didn’t even bother making a single-player campaign, was a bit hollow. The follow-up however, has already been confirmed to include a single-player campaign. So we can only hope that it will be much closer to DICE’s Battlefield 1, only set in a galaxy far, far away.

Continue below to check out the first trailer for Battlefront II.

Wait, What? Nintendo To Discontinue NES Classic In North America
The Movie God   |  @   |

Nintendo's Mini NES Classic Edition

Those who grew up playing the original Nintendo Entertainment System were overwhelmed with excitement last summer when it was revealed that a mini version of the console was on the way, complete with 30 games pre-loaded on it including the Super Mario Bros. games, two Zelda games, and many more. Sadly that excitement was premature. The NES Classic Edition was one of the hottest holiday gift items, but its launch was a classic disaster. The $60 bundle of nostalgia was sold out. Everywhere. All the time.

But instead of fixing the problem, making boatloads of cash, and being happy while bringing happiness to others, Nintendo seemed content with things as they were. Even to this day, if you want to secure one on Amazon it’ll cost you far more than it should cost you buying from third-party sellers. And now, the perfect cherry on top of this shit sundae, the company has apparently decided to discontinue the NES Classic in North America altogether.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

The big news coming out of PlayStation Experience (PSX) last year was Naughty Dog’s confirmation trailer for The Last of Us Part II.

But another Naughty Dog game was also unveiled during the event, a spinoff of their Uncharted series titled Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The game is technically DLC for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, but instead of following the usual protagonist, Nathan Drake, it instead follows one of the main series’ supporting characters, Chloe Frazer.

A new trailer for The Lost Legacy has been released, and a release date and price have been locked in. You can find all of this below.

‘Prey’: Learn About The Story, Weapons, Powers, and More (Videos)
The Movie God   |  @   |

Prey

The new Prey game from Dishonored developer Arkane Studios is now less than one month from being released, and I for one am pretty excited. As I am for any video game that takes me to space. Because, well…I can’t go to space in real life. Not yet.

We’ve seen plenty of good peeks at the game so far, and there are lots more to check out if you’re not yet sold on it. A handful of videos have been released recently, which preview Prey‘s story, its various unique weapons and powers and gadgets, and more.

You can find all of these videos below.

BioWare Details Upcoming ‘Mass Effect: Andromeda’ Improvements
The Movie God   |  @   |

Mass Effect: Andromeda

It’s been two weeks now since Mass Effect: Andromeda was released, and things…have not gone quite as hoped. The game’s numbers have been solid, but initial critical response was poorer than expected. It hasn’t been a complete disaster, but the incredibly high expectations were not being met. And while a game being released with its fair share of problems is nothing new, we thankfully live in a time where many of these problems can be remedied. Something that developer BioWare is indeed working on.

The company has posted a lengthy update in which they detail some of the improvements that will be made in upcoming patches beginning with one tomorrow. You can read all about these fixes below.

Movie Based On Video Game ‘We Happy Few’ Being Developed
The Movie God   |  @   |

We Happy Few

Back at Gamescom 2015 we saw a trailer for a psychedelic nightmare of a game titled We Happy Few, which is set in what’s described as a “drug-fueled, retro-futuristic city in an alternative 1960s England.” In the game you either take your medicine and stay nice and happy with everyone else, or things can go bad on you quickly.

Technically the game is still being made. It’s available to buy via Early Access on Steam, Game Preview on Xbox One, or Games in Development on GOG, but hasn’t been fully completed yet. Still, it’s been played by enough people and made enough of an impression to catch the attention of Hollywood. It’s been announced that a movie based on We Happy Few is now in development.
