Be hungry – nevermore!
Teefury‘s t-shirt of the day is a subject matter I totally love — Edgar Allan Poe!
The design is for a fictional Poe eatery: Poe Boy’s Sandwich Shop, in Baltimore, Maryland (where Poe had sometimes lived and eventually died).
For only $9, plus a small shipping cost, you can get this Poe Boy’s t-shirt, designed by artist odysseyroc, aka Tony Avina, colorist for the comic book The Boys.
The sale at Teefury began at midnight EST (November 13, 2010) and will continue for 24 hours, but once it’s over, it’s gone forever, so grab it now if you want it.
Avina said that he had planned to do a companion design for this called “The Tell Tale Hearth Bakery,” but never did. Now that’s a shirt I’d want to see!
The shirt has the famous image of Edgar Allan Poe as drawn by Avina. At the top is the Poe Boy’s logo; under the image are the words Sandwich Shop with the tagline “Be hungry – nevermore” (now that’s catchy!), followed by the location, Baltimore, Maryland. The shirt, which is available in both men’s and women’s sizes, is black with a red, green, and beige design. I didn’t notice it, but one of the commenters at Teefury pointed out that the Pokemon font is used in the full logo (you can spot it in the o’s). Oh, and in case you are unaware, a po’ boy is a style of sub sandwich popular in Louisiana.
What do you guys think of this Poe shirt?
